Hough is a girl. Wormald is Wren.
Also, I didn't know that John Cameron Mitchell was directing the film version of "Rabbit Hole." Or that, according to the BWW News Desk, the movie is called "The Rabbit Hole."

Deerek Hough Was the star of Footloose in London and the tour and walked away with some amazing reviews (he was brilliant)
Its funny his sister is in Footloose now, to be honest i would have rather seen him back then her, guess they cant be in together though because that would just be creepy lol

So, judging by the press release it's no longer a musical.. just a remake of the original. Lame. Reminds me of the Fame remake, originally it was set to be a musical, then all of a sudden.. it wasn't.

It was a musical when Neil Meron and Craig Zadan where announced as Producers way back when... not based on the actual stage musical, though.
There's even interviews with them talking about how the songs would be integrated into the film.

I got a baaaaddd feeling about Dennis Quaid. Five bucks he becomes the next "Pierce Brosnan in MAMMA MIA" travesty.
I'm looking forward to Julianne Hough, but other than that, I weep :...(

Posted: 6/28/10 at 6:25pmAs stated ad nauseum here, it's NOT a musical, so why would there be an issue with Dennis Quaid's vocals?

Posted: 6/28/10 at 10:04pmI'm with songanddanceman2 on this one. I think Derek Hough in the role of Ren would be the better and much more obvious choice than casting his sister as Ariel. For one, Derek is one of the most dynamic, entertaining and energetic dancers On DANCING WITH THE STARS. I think that his sister, while a good dancer herself, would make less of an impact from a PR standpoint. I mean, Ren is the central character, so i'd imagine you'd want that role to be cast from a talent known to TV audiences. Kenny Wormald is a decent enough hip hop dancer, but from what I've seen of him teaching at dance conventions, nothing particularly special in the charisma department. I do think the film is doomed from the start though.

Posted: 6/28/10 at 10:50pmI don't know Phyl, but i consider the original FOOTLOOSE a musical film, not a musical. I actually prefer it to the mediocre stage version. When they use music and dance together, and if it indeed supports the plot, i think the medium falls somewhere in between. That being said I do think it will be hard to improve on the original film.
