Can't answer that but for those west coasters, she's on SNL on E! right now!!!

YES!! I would love to see her in that role... its perfect!! I mean, her voice alone... **faints**
Yes, although she's a bit too sexy, n'est-ce pas? Wouldn't all of Eileen's suitors want to jump Ruth as well?

She's doing great on SNL - I never saw this episode before. I love her monologue :)

i also think she'd be amazing as ulla either on stage or in the movie version
She'd be a great Ruth. Megan is a hot lady, but I'm sure she could play the role and come off Ruthesque. Besides--Donna Murphy and Brooke are both beautiful women and have done a great job of playing the part.
I'd like anyone to step in instead of having it close. It's such a shame. The material is something you don't really see on Broadway these days...

She'll be back if all goes well in London with Guys and Dolls, I'd say. However, she can only be on stage for a certain part of the year, as she has a show to film. That may prevent her from creating any roles in the immediate future.

actually, she was going for the part that Jane Krakowski got.
Again, the casting requirement for Ulla a very height specific & the really Divine Ms M is of the vertically challenged persuasion.
I just bought tickets (literally 10 minutes ago) to Megan Mullally performing at the Allen Room.....very excited for this. I do wish she'd do another broadway show though.....I think she will someday.
She's doing a 1940s style concert at the Kennedy Center by me in March...I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go if I can get tickets. Actually, from what I've heard...I think next season will be the final season of Will and Grace, as much as that kills me it will definitely give her more of an opportunity to come back to Broadway. There are so many roles I'd love to see her play:
Hildy in "On the Town"
Kate/Lucy in "Avenue Q" (don't deny it, you know she'd be great!)
Mama Morton in "Chicago"
Velma von Tussle in "Hairspray"
...just to name a few.

I LOVE HER!!!!
Was Megan Mullally ever approached for the role of Ulla in the Producers movie? Who else were they considering besides Nicole Kidman (sorry to kind of go off topic)?
I think she'd be a great Ruth...
not as Mama Morton..
But she would make an incredible Kate/Lucy in Avenue Q, and it would majorly boost ticket sales. I would LOVE to see her in this role.
She'd also make a great Velma von Tussle.
I really hope she returns to Broadway after her TV gig ends. I'm always saddened when Hollywood eats up a terrific Broadway actor or actress and they never tread the boards again. (Vicki Lewis? Where are you??? Scott Bakula? Come back!!!)
I would love to see Mugan Mullally in this part. I think she'd be fabulous in it. I just wish the show weren't closing.........

Wow Ive been saying for a while that Megan Mullally would be a great Kate Monster/Lucy in Ave Q.(Of course I would hate to see Stephanie go and I hope she doesnt go anywhere soon)
I agree. I think she'd be great, but I would hate to see Stephanie leave.
Sure Megan would be great. However, why "waste" her on such a role? Written for Rosalind Russell, the part of Ruth does not require a good singer and Megan is an excellent singer. Perhaps Donna Murphy missed so many performances because the part was seriously boring to her due to its lack of challenge to her.
Remember WONDERFUL TOWN has starred Carol Channing, Elaine Stritch, etc..........many extraordinarily talented women.....but none (until Donna Murphy) considered a particularly good singer.
I would love to see Megan again (she was sublime in How to Succeed...) in a role matching all of her considerable performing gifts.

"Waste" her because she could pull off the role with ease, and she would be stunt casting (with talent) that could, possibly, boost ticket sales.
