Yes, It IS POSSIBLE to win the Wicked Lottery!

So after wondering how bad the Wicked lottery was yesterday-- I WON! It was very surreal.

So anyway--Front row, dead center. Great seats--probably not the best if you are seeing it for the first time because you sort of have to look up and miss some stuff (the only thing i remember missing is you cant see the hat and the bottle at the end, but the awesome thing is that the cast can see you--Shoshana waved to someone sitting next to me who i think she must have recognized.

The show was great. Shoshana is just incredible. She added tons of random riffs in Defying Gravity and they sounded so good. It was the best I've ever seen it done. Her No Good Deed was also incredible. I know people might hate me for this, but she is better than Idina. I love Idina, bu Shoshana is just better. The one thing that Idina has over Shoshana is probably a more commanding stage prescence, but that's besidest the point. She always hits EVERY single note and her acting is great. The nice thing about Shoshana is that she changes the show up, and adds different riffs so the show is never exactly the same which is nice after seeing the show a couple of times. Jennifer Laura Thompson is great. She's not Kristin, but she is pretty close. Her Popular is hilarious. David Ayers and Jeffrey Kuhn surprised me. They were actually good today-- I saw them in February and didn't care for either of them, but they really improved and they were good. David is no Norbert, but his performance is still good. George Hearn was also on top tonight--definitely the best I've ever seen and Carole was great as always. The only person tonight who didn't impress me was probably Michelle--It was just the average Nessa performance, but I wont hold that against her because the other times I've seen her she was incredible. Of course, the ensemble was great as always. The whole show was great and winning the lottery was a cool experience.

If you want to win the lottery-- go to a Saturday matinee. There were probably at tops 200 there which was very surprising and the night show as probably like 400.

It was a very eventful day at the Gershwin-- good luck to anyone trying the lottery!

I proposed to her at the stage door and wrote her a fan note awhile ago and she remembered me.. i gave her our engagement ring at the stage door today also!

i wont the lottery also and it was incredible! :)

Seriously though, she is quite a talent. Her performance is one of the best I've ever seen on a Broadway stage. Not only her beyond human vocals, she brings such depth to the role of Elphaba.. by far the best Elphaba I've seen!

It's pretty much the order you're called I think.
I didn't request to sit anywhere--they just gave us our tickets. I think they do left to right or something like that possibly because I was called in the middle so we go the center seats. BB 110 :) Updated On: 3/26/05 at 11:46 PM

i was going to try the lottery at teh evening performance yesterday but my mom said she wouldn't drive up cause we wont get tickets (should of went to the matinee) otherwise great review. I will see how my sister likes the new cast. she saw OBC in previews with me.

A couple of my friends are going up to NYC for 4 days in June and thought about giving the lotto a go every night until we won. But then I found fourth row, partial view orchestra seats on ticketmaster and snatched those up. I'm such a pessimist.

You request 1 or 2..


My advice is to go with one other person. If you go with three, it is impossible to get 3 tickets unless 2 people in your party win. A Party of 2 is the best, or 4, 6, 8 and so on as a last resort.

I think I've gone to the wicked lottery close to 100 times and I've only won ONCE!!!!! Thank goodness I go w/ other friends that seem to have better luck than me!

On the other hand, I had the good luck of winning the Q lottery on the night of John's last performance. That definitely makes up for all the Wicked lotteries I've lost.

I agree with you. I like Shoshana better than Idina. She has an incredible voice.
