I just got back from such an incredible night! I saw WICKED for the first time ever! There were 2 understudies, one for Boq, the other Ms. Morrible. The cast was phenomenal! Idina has bronchitis currently and I was worried that she would sing a different arrangement to a few songs, but she started and ended phenomenally! I had never heard her sing "Defying Gravity" so amazingly... (well the end part)... there was some pitch problems when she and Jennifer were harmonizing on "I hope you're happy in the end... my friend". I've been told that I sound sooo much like Michelle Federer, and that's a huge compliment to me, now that I heard her really sing! Jennifer Laura Thompson is phenomenal! She was hysterical as well as super sweet and genuinely funny after curtain calls when they talked about donations for BroadwayCares, and at the stagedoor. Idina and Joey were a little off when they sang "As Long as You're Mine". Parts of that song were amazing, others were slightly "iffy" because they were laughing quite a lot, and Idina began to cough at the beginning. She pulled it off though.
I went to the stagedoor (first time i've ever gone to a stagedoor!!!!) and I got autographs from Joey, Jennifer, and Idina! They were all soooo sweet! I had a conversation with each of them too!!!! It was great! I also got pics w/ Joey and Jennifer. Idina came out fairly quickly. I duno how she got that green makeup off so quickly. She was out in maybe 15 minutes after the show ended! And the rest of the cast was before that. I didn't get to meet Michelle!
Another time. Joey was the first out, I told him how I loved his performance and that I wore green just so that i could match a "wicked" theme. He thought it was funny... might i add, he has gorgeously hott eyes. And then Jennifer came out a few moments after. We talked about what she was wearing. I told her that I liked her hat, and someone else said that they liked her vest" and she kept talking about how silly she looked and stuff... and then she complimented me on my boots... which I actually don't like much (they're just random black boots that are just comfy). Anyways, she's such a sweetheart!!!! And finally, Idina came out. She signed everyone's playbill/ whatever. I told her that although I heard she had been sick how phenomenal I thought she was tonight, and she thanked me, and she told me that each song she sang she expected not to be able to reach it, yet she just did whatever came out, and she was so funny about it. And btw... she's soooo pretty! grrr.. *jealous here* of that and that she's on Broadway!
anyways... sorry to ramble on. I know... i must have frustrated a bunch of you about this. But, I just had to write down some of the stuff.
Oh, and on the way home, we were pulled over by cops telling my friend (who was driving) that she had a blinker light not working or something... that was really scary.
anyways... thanks for reading, if you've bothered!

did you get pulled over by the NYPD? The past 2 times I was in the city they pulled me over, once for a seatbelt (I won't even start in on that story) and once for being in traffic...seriously though, to this day I insist that both times the reason was my Massachusetts plate :)
Glad you enjoyed the show!
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

I thought Walter wasn't very good. He messed a few lines up and missed a few cues. It really made me realize how good Christopher is...
Obviously, don't know how many shows Walter has done so far, maybe it's still all fairly new to him.
I have no idea what was going with JLT, Idina and Joey. They weren't able to look at one another without bursting out laughing. Who knows
Great review, broadwaybaby87

wow, sounds like you had a great night! it shows what a great actress/singer idina is that she could sing with bronchitis. personally, i wouldn't care if the melodies were different, i'd rather see idina than an understudy.
you got to meet idina?? LUCKY YOU! i'm so jealous. the only time i saw wicked it was a matinee so she didn't come out. but i'm seeing it again january 1st (58 DAYS!!!) and its at night so hopefully idina will come out. i'm seeing her 8 days before her last show... I'M SO EXCITED!

He missed his cues in Witch Hunters, so came in late twice. He also 'fell over' his lines before Dancing Through Life... no average theatre goer would have picked up on it though.

Walter did have some line-slippage-ness-flub. didn't know what to call it.
It was actually cops on the Palisades. We had just got off, and a cop pulled us over for a broken light. It was really creepy.
Oh... and at the parking garage, my friend lost her ticket for her car so it took extra time to get the car.
I was really surprised that Idina came out sooo fast. She was soooo sweet, minus the fact that she didn't want to take any pics (which i can understand so i'm not holding it against her- still love her to death!)
and the 3 always DID crack up!
