You'd think they would have by now. And it's a shame that the Virgin Megastore is closed so they can't sell them their. :/

Know someone who has them & have them burn you a copy is always an option.

I have heard of musicals selling their cast album at the theatre first and then distributing it to other outlets ( Itunes, various other music stores etc) but this must be the longest I have heard of such a thing happening.

It's happening because apparently the album producers have yet to sign a deal with a national distributor. The producers are looking to recoup some of the money they paid to do the album through the distribution deal while the distributors are balking at paying that kind of money for a product they ultimately will not own or control.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
