This is coming to Bway (the Imperial) in the fall. Has anyone in chicago seen this? Recently posted on Playbill.com. Googled it and found some interesting feature stories... (3 1/2 hrs!? Yikes!)

i just saw it last saturday and you new yorkers are in for a treat! it is soooooo good! the 3 1/2 hours you won't even feel it. for such a very heavy story about a dysfunctional family the writing is filled with humor and wit that the actors deliver very well. the play is so riveting you're at the edge of your seat the whole time. it takes you into a rollercoaster of emotions and twists and turns of the plot that you'll never expect. from seeing plays at the steppenwolf for a number of years now, i think this is the best they have developed in that theatre. don't miss it

Easily one of the best shows I have seen in the last 5 years or so. It will need some tightening (especially in the beginning)and (in my opinion) some recasting in minor roles, but it is 99% better than most of the stuff currently playing in NY. The play is very long, but the serious theatregoer will find the time goes quickly due to a compelling story line, well constructed book, and great, emotional unaffected performances (at least with the Steppenwolf cast).

The 3-1/2 hours will fly! The show is fabulously entertaining. Great writing and great acting. It truly belongs to Deanna Dunagan (the acid-tongued mother) and Amy Morton, her oldest daughter. Rondi Reed is also steller as the aunt.

I've seen many plays at the Steppenwolf and the playwright perform in several, but this was my first Tracy Letts play. What a family he created. Truly memorable.

Most of the cast will transfer, though I saw today in a brochure from the Steppenwolf, Ian Barford is cast in The Crucible at the same time here, so someone else will be playing Little Charles.

Don't sit too close. The set is a a three-storey house and several scenes take place on the third level. Your neck will thank you.

Cast member who were supposed to do THE CRUCIBLE will be coming to Broadway with this show instead. Sally Murphy was slated to play Elizabeth Proctor, but they are replacing her. I'm sure the same is true of Ian Barford and Rondi Reed.

The Steppenwolf will have no problem finding new actors in Chicago to do THE CRUCIBLE.
