Hey everyone
I'm going to New York next weekend (November 2-4), and am going to see MAURITIUS, PYGMALION, and hopefully YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (depends what kind of seats we can get at the box office or the cancellation line).
Anyways, so we have nothing booked for Friday night (November 2), so my family just decided to get some last minute tickets for a show. We tried for CYRANO, but that didnt have any decent seats left.
So our options are:

ROCK N'ROLL
THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION
A BRONX TALE
or
THE SEAFARER

We're kind of leaning towards ROCK N'ROLL, but which one would you probably reccomend most? And yes, I know some of those havent started yet, but what would you all choose out of those 4?
Mind you, we've seen everything on Broadway except AVENUE Q, GREASE and THE LITTLE MERMAID (the last 2 we already have tickets for).
Thanks for the help everyone- sorry, I know you all hate these threads, and sorry for any bad wording or grammar I might have. I would like to purchase some tickets pretty soon, so I was in a tad of a rush writing this.
Thanks again!

Well it's all a matter of taste, but based on the rave reviews from London, I think I'd choose THE SEAFARER.

ROCK N ROLL is terrific on a lot of levels, but Stoppard is certainly not for everyone.

A BRONX TALE is fine (I'd give it a B-) -- an interesting story, that frankly worked better as a film (Chazz Palmintieri works hard trying to bring to life 16 characters, but eventually lots of them sound and act the same -- he's not much of a mimic and lacks the kind of virtuoso versatility pulling off something like this requires).

I'm not seeing THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION until tomorrow, but advance word here and at All That Chat has been very mixed with lots of people finding it too exposition heavy.

So, by process of elimnation, I'd choose THE SEAFARER which was acclaimed for both its acting and writing in London (and some of that same cast, including Jim Norton who won an Olivier for his performance, have come over for the Broadway run).

PS -- AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY by Tracy Letts also begins previews the same day as THE SEAFARER. It received mostly rave reviews when it played in Chicago earlier this year and most of that cast from The Steppenwolf Company has come to Broadway with the show. You might consider that as well.

CyCoSpAz, I had tickets for AVE. Q back in July, but opted to sell them so I could see MARY POPPINS instead...big mistake, haha. But I might be making a trip to the show on Thanksgiving, who knows.

And thanks Margo very much for the help.
I was also thinking AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, but I'm coming into the city that evening, and since the show starts at 7:30, I don't want to risk the flight being delayed a little bit and me not getting into the city in time for the show. Even seeing an 8:00 show is gonna be a little risky, but as long as I go straight to the theatre, I think I should be fine.
And yeah, I had been thinking ROCK N'ROLL, but my main question about that was if it can be hard to understand for someone not too familiar with Russian Communist politics and such, because I certainly am not. Basically I just wasnt sure if it was accessible or not.
But I was definitely thinking THE SEAFARER, I could find great seats, and it sounds interesting.
Again, thanks for the help, and anymore opinions would be appreciated, I'm going to probably get some tickets sometime tomorrow
:)

and as you can see, I edited the title, so now I'm just wondering between ROCK N' ROLL and THE SEAFARER
thanks :)
