My mind is totally blank, but she performed in "Once On This Island" and I bought the recording and left it at my friends house (darn it) and I'm trying to remember one of the performers names. It was La Chanez or something like that? Is that right do you know?
LaChanze
THANK YOU
yes I was going to say "why am I forgetting?" I love her on this recording, she's incredible!

Hahahaha, my thoughts exactly.
I read that and went, "SHE COULDN'T REMEMBER LA CHANZE??!?!!?!"
So she couldn't remember her name - why is that such a big deal? She asked for help.

Idina Menzel was the lead in Wicked...
...she played the Wicked Witch, hence the name: WICKED

They are both the leads, thats why they bow together.

Then shouldn't the title of the show have something to do with Glinda as well?
why the indignance? it's not like La Chanze is a household name, and OOTI is not by any means a show in which people are expected to be universally educated. throw on that unpleasant WICKED exchange, and we might have a candidate for Most Depressing Thread Under 10 Posts

but seriously...I don't see how Chenoweth is considered a lead...other than the fact she was nommed in the lead category at the Tonys
I think we have a winner. I'd stay and congratulate the thread, but I need to go sharpen some pencils and jam them into my eyes. you understand.

I think the character of Glinda is considered a lead because the title WICKED alludes to the Wicked Witch as well as the Good Witch and her not-so-good ("wicked") side. Plus, the subtitle of the show is "The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz". It's about the both of them and their lives prior to where The Wizard of Oz begins.
nah, I can do it myself. thanks though. if you're still wrestling with the glinda impasse, I wouldn't feel right asking you to take on a pencil sharpener. sweet kid.
