that they'll extend Gypsy? I'm having trouble figuring out when I can go and I really don't want to miss this. Any thoughts?

I agree, not very likely. But I did read that if does go well this month, there might be a chance of lifting the closing date.
I did get tickets for the 25th, and very upset when I was told that the 28th is all sold out already!
Actually the next 3 saturday mats are all sold out. Maybe this closing could be a hoax in order to get people to come to the show...and 2 weeks ago they were talking about extending BP contract!! Very strange, the way this business works!

Think outside the box.
This may be that perfect reason that God has given you sick days, vacation days, personal days and credit cards.
You have almost 4 weeks including a holiday weekend in there.

I really don't think it's a hoax considering they cancelled the auditions they were supposed to have for kids in the show.
Don't be upset that it's closing. Be happy that it was here to begin with.
I know I'll never forget seeing this production; and for that I am grateful.

I wish I could "think outside the box!" unfortunately my box is limited... I can't skip classes to go and my parents are difficult about going down to the city at night. ![]()
I'm still working on it.

Given the stunt that Urban Cowboy pulled last year, it wouldn't be the first time a show does that. Nor will it be the last. However, I don't think Gypsy is in that dire need to pull a hoax. If they do extend, it will be for a very short time. I agree that the Shubert people will want to get started on a new show right away.

Skipping classes is fine.
Where are you going to learn more, class or the Shubert Theatre?
Its a no-brainer--like our president. I'm sorry, but I had rto go there.

trust me, I whole-heartedly agree with you. Of course I'd be learning more at the Shubert
try telling my wonderful parental units that.

Dear Luv,
Have the 'rents log onto this thread and have them read all this.
They will agree. They may not say so, but they know from whence I speak. I am probably their ages or older and I know it.
In theory we look bad if we don't support classroom education.
Balderdash. With all that's coming down these days, you learn from everything. Even Gypsy.
If you live in Georgia, you almost learned something other than evolution. If you watched the Super Bowl you may have learned that women's bare breasts are bad, but men grabbing their (probably miniscule) crotches is good and that men in skin tight pants and helmets knocking each other down are paragons of heterosexuality.
Think outside the box.

I like telling my parents that while I respect their opinion, I dont need their approval. and then i go do whatever I want anyway, which included flying to the other side of the country to see Sebastian Bach in JCS three times in one weekend with a bunch of friends on opening night. I gave them all the info and stuff, I planned it myself, I knew how I was gonna get there, who I was going with, how I was getting home, how much it was gonna cost. Bye Mom! She got over it, I think she even respected me for sticking up for myself. But my parents are weird, it took longer for me to be 'allowed' to dye my hair than it did for me to be 'allowed' to leave the state.
