Could you guys tell me somthing about this play.We JUST figured out that we r doing it for a school musical and I know NOTHING about it.Todays the first time I've really heard of it...anything you guys could tell me about the story line the songs or anything else I would REALLY appreciate it

Posted: 1/31/05 at 11:49amI saw the Broadway production in the late 80s. It had good production values, but the show was a bore. I just remember that the set moved quite a bit.

Posted: 1/31/05 at 11:50amThe Broadway production was just awful. I hear it's good when done regionally, etc., however, so your production will be fine. Rent the movie - it's wonderful.

ever heard the song "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" or "The Trolly Song" that Judy Garland always sang? they're in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS.

love the movie yearly, and the "sorta sequel" IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME as well (which is yet another version of THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER, to some degree).
Never seen it onstage, anxious to. i'm pretty sure it was on Broadway, just not for long. It's a good show for a high school with resources, as there are a lot of female roles. Wonderful music too.
