I saw the Broadway production in the late 80s. It had good production values, but the show was a bore. I just remember that the set moved quite a bit.

Hey Dottie! Did your colleagues enjoy the cake even though your cat decided to sit on it? ~GuyfromGermany

The Broadway production was just awful. I hear it's good when done regionally, etc., however, so your production will be fine. Rent the movie - it's wonderful.

love the movie yearly, and the "sorta sequel" IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME as well (which is yet another version of THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER, to some degree).

Never seen it onstage, anxious to. i'm pretty sure it was on Broadway, just not for long. It's a good show for a high school with resources, as there are a lot of female roles. Wonderful music too.

I guarantee that at some point one or both of us will want to get out. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life..."

I agree with Rath - rent the movie - the play is almost exactly the same (though without Judy, its pretty boring)

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
