new young composers

Hi everyone,

I was just curious to learn about some of the new upcoming composers. I'm talking about people like Brian Lowdermilk (kerrigan-lowdermilk.com), Jonathan Reid-Gealt (jonathan-reid-gealt.com), and Pasek & Paul (pasekandpaul.com). If you guys have any favorite young composers with websites (and preferably uploaded songs!), I'd love to hear about them.

There are so very many new composers, of course.
There's a company called Raw Impressions that's a great way to get a smattering of new composers and writers.
Check it out, I think the site is www.rimt.org.

one of the very best writers of songs, political ditties, send-ups, etc is a young australian theatrical sensation named eddie perfect. i believe he has a website. he is an excellent performer as well.

I don't know what area you're in, but I'm a student at NYU, and this Friday and Saturday at 8:00 there's a concert called First Stages, featuring students from the Vocal Performance program singing works in progress by students from the Composition program. I know several of the composers (I even have the same name as one) and there are some really talented writers in the group. Admission is free, and it's in the Black Box Theatre in Pless Hall, on the corner of Washington Place and University Place, which is on east side of Washington Square Park.
