i really forget about this from when i saw the show. was there any sort of entr'acte? or did the second act just start with clara and margaret in rome and then the first music was aiutami? thanks for reminding me!

It started with them in Rome, I think.
Maybe there was music - btu background music.

that's what i was thinking... because i don't know why they wouldn't include it on the cd if there was.
I really don't remember an entr'acte in piazza, but even if there was one they would have, most likely, NOT recorded it. a lot of recent shows that do have entr'actes don't record them. seems to be a continuing trend. dirty rotten scoundrels for instance which has a short, but awesome entr'acte didn't record it which sucks because it's probably one of my favorite act two openers of all time with the chorus reprise and then the "instant replay" of the last scene we saw...

I loved that! "Didn't we just do this?" "Yeah but it was so much fun the first time around." That was great.
I too was sad that the entr'acte wasn't included on the DRS CR. I love that overture - it might be one of my favorites. It's not really a medley of the different songs, but stands on it's own. And it's so fun and "James Bond"ish.
As for Piazza, I can let you know when I see it Tuesday. I'll make a mental note to remember.

There isn't an official entr'acte per se - the orchestra plays for a little bit, then the clergy members walk onto the stage and the scene begins. The whole time the stage is lit, unlike the traditional style where everything is dark while the orchestra is playing.
I'll also throw in that the show was beautiful and I loved it so much. I think the ending in itself is brilliant.
