I just thought it would be fun if we shared great experiences and horrible as well. I don't necessarily mean review the show, but anything that happened during, before, or after. :)

My favorite is the Hunter Foster story and also the man who screamed "Noo!" when a woman said she wanted to see Tarzan :)

Worst experience - first few days of Cabaret - mics and mylar refusing to work. :P Eventually the kinks got worked out and the show went on! Hooray! (this is from a technical view)

Best experience (as in going to a show) was going to see George M. Cohan Tonight! My mom and I managed to get a season-holder's seats (which were never claimed). So we had good seats and it was a good show and everybody had a good time.

Once upon a time, Kristen wanted to see Les Miserables because her favorite person (Gary Beach, I don't think you could ever begin to comprehend how I feel about this man) was going to be in it.
First week of school starts, Kristn hears it will be the first theatre trip of the year.
Kristen wants to jump out of her skin right there in her Physics class.
((weeks pass))

~Annoying people go on the trip besides 2 friends and my brother.
~Creepy & annoying teach leading the trip.
~We get to the theatre for a 3pm showing AT 3pm becaue apparently it should only take 20 kids + a few teachers 15minutes to walk from 65th Street to 44th, which it did not.
((show goes on))
~Jean Valjean (Alexander) is still sick, I get stuck sitting next to this man & his wife and the woman will NOT STOP TALKING.
Shes singing along 2 beats ahead of the music, and when something really emotional happened and I should've felt tears instead I was SOOOOO frustrated because I was hearing things whispered like "oh my god that's so moving!" "her voice is great, remeber her in...." "it's so quiet you can hear a pin drop!" etc.
~Show ends, too soon.
~Can we wait at the theatre for the bus? of course not, that's way to easy.
~Kristen has never got too see Gary Beach in person, and there he was right in front of her eyes doing a fantastic Thenardier, but can she take part in her first stage door experience? Of Course Not! That would be way too fullfilling for her!
~Kristen and a friend get caught trying to wait at the stage door and now Mr. creepy & annoying is cranky with them.
~The group is slowing marched away from the Broadhurst so they can wait in a nearby alley for their bus & hour wait in traffic.
~And now, I have no picture, no autograph, and no souvenier or revival cast recording to fully perserve the show.

This was the best because it was a theatre experience where I actually got to see Mr. Beach perform live and fully remember it.
But it was also the worst for a lot of little reasons.

=(

Hmmm... Theatre Experiences. There are so many!

There was the time when I saw James Joyce's The Dead with Christopher Walken and in the female lead's big finale number, Walken starts coughing uncontrollably. That was pretty memorable.

One of the my most memorable experiences would be getting to be a speller in Spelling this summer. That was AMAZING!

Then there was the time when my mom and I couldn't decide on a play to see over summer so we stopped by History Boys on a whim and got $20 Standing Room tickets for that nights show.

Horrible and Great at the same time? I remember when Wicked first came out and I was dying to see it. This was when I was still living in Ohio and didn't have the luxory of commuting to the city on a daily basis. Saved up my money for months and planned a big four day trip, with Wicked being the last show before we came back home.

I got tickets for the Sunday evening performance right after the Tonys, infamously known as "understudy day." Kristen was out. Idina sounded horrible and left at intermission. Joel was out. Norbert was out as well. I still had a good time, but was nonetheless dissapointed after waiting for months and months to see the show and not see ANY of the leads. Luckily, watching Ana Gasteyer and the rest of the fabulous cast (minus Reinders) last month redeemed the whole experience for me.

A girl I was talking to at the stage door of Wicked (London) passed out across my feet. Had my (very long) coat not been draped over my arm, her head would've hit the brick wall without any padding. Martin Ball, whom we'd been chatting with, leapt over the barricade, got down on his knees (on the wet ground) and put his arm under her head and checked to see she was okay. Turns out she hadn't eaten all day because she was so excited, but he got a chair and had her sit down and sent an ensemble member to get a medic (I'm guessing there's one backstage anyway). I got to meet a lot more of the cast, cos several stopped to see that she was okay. Finally, she was taken backstage, much to the displeasure of the other girls standing outside, haha.
Stranger still, she sat a few seats down in the same row at Avenue Q that night. She said an ambulance came & she had her blood pressure taken, etc. but that she was fine. I told her how everyone was jealous that she got to go backstage, but she assured me that she didn't get to see anything or meet anyone, but that's still pretty cool. And Martin couldn't have been nicer - he stayed with her the whole time.

I guess that could be bad OR good, depending on how you look at it.

As for WORST...

I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

Aww that was nice of Martin to do that.

Umm, I have had a few great theatre experiences of my own.

Good
WICKED London - Meeting Idina Menzel for the first time was the best thing that ever happened to me. The last note of No Good Deed when she goes ; "Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhgaaaain" I was blown away, I kept asking my self; "where did that come from?" Such a nice person, Helen Dallimore & Martin Ball too. From that night, the only bad thing happening was me missing to see some cast members. Nearly met Adam Garcia but he got stampeded by a HUUUUGE wave of girls whom appeared out of nowhere, some fat boob pushed in front of me when I was going to meet Katie, I missed James by the time I got there, Miriam was shattered and didn't sign anymore by the time she got to me so I didn't bother to ask. And Nigel Planer didn't come out at all for some strange reason.

My Fair Lady National UK Tour - I've seen this show 3 times, once in Bristol & twice in Cardiff, Wales at the Wales Millenium Centre. This show never stopped to amuse me. The sets looked 'magical' and the songs were incredible. Amy Nuttall whom played Elisa was brilliant and she has such a beautiful voice. If My Fair Lady came to Braodway again, I reckon she would play the role. The only bad thing was when I saw the show on the Tours closing night, I was at the stage door to meet Amy Nuttall the sadly, my parents stopped me.

CATS - Saw this at the New Theatre, Cardiff Wales & abcolutely loved it. This was the National UK Tour of CATS for it's 25th anniversary. Now I'm never used to people in costumes popping around the theatre in the dark with this scary like circus music but for some reason, I wasn't scared at all.
The acting was incredible, especially Dianne Pilkington whom plays Grizabella, she was wonderful and her rendition of 'Memory' was very moving and powerful. A great night!

The Bad
Blood Brothers - This was a bad night because it was with the school. Saw this on my birthday on March 28th at the New Theatre in Cardiff Wales and it was the worst noght ever. Besides the cast's acting and set designs being incredible, the audience behaviour from our school was disgusting, I felt embarrased being with them. But some of the horrible boys whom were with us started laughing at and talking about me just because I wore jeans, trainers & a cool top. I was close to hitting them one but I ignored them. And during the performance, there were people in our school booing & swearing etc. We were all in the upper circle. At Interval, they were still throwing things but at me and were laughing, what was worse is that my friends witnessed this and did nothing about it, they laughed with them. But one whom I really despise, I pushed him down the stairs and hid so he didnt know it was me.
Because of him (his name is Will Humphry) and his goons, they ruined my Birthday Night! Terrible behaviour which was horrible to put up with.
