Ok so i feel that Shannon Durig has been in Hairspray for a good amount of time now. I think she is a great talent in the show but i was wondering when we were going to see a new Tracy on stage.
Someone I spoke to recently who works at the Neil Simon said he thought she signed a nine month extention in July. He wasn't positive, though.

Last I heard her current contract is up this April. She's a smart girl. She's hanging on to this role as long as she can.
I agree. She is the lead, and she would love to keep it that way.

She deserves it. She is great! I don't blame her for keeping the job as long as she can. Its a good show, its still playing to great audiences. I wonder if she might as well stay until after the movie comes out (if for some odd reason, they dont kick her out for a bigger name when that happens). She might be able to really make good use of the people that will flock after the movie. I wonder....
I heard something around spring too but I hope she stays longer. Definitely one of my favorite Tracys.
Bet you Marrissa will be back in come movie time...hmmm?

interesting thought... I personally think she may be done with the show. If Shannon does leave and they don't bring someone "big" in, I'm all for Keala Settle replacing her. I saw her on the tour in Boston, more than a year ago. She was one of the best parts of the cast (the others have already made their way to Broadway Caissie - who is apparently joining the Wicked ensamble-, Aaron and Isabel)

At this point, is she the actress with the most performances as Tracy?
i hope michelle dowdy takes over after her shes sooo good
I say LET Durig stay. She's solid and does it really matter who's playing that part anyway?! As for MJW, I wouldn't expect her to return when the movie comes out.

I should hope not because Durig is a lot better than MJW.
MJW is kinda skinny(er) these days, too.
