1.) there are MANY MANY threads already on this.
2.) A lot of people will tell you both the musical and movies sucked, others will tell you that the musical was amazing and the movie blew hard, and others (like me) will say that they loved both.

Posted: 2/1/05 at 6:28pmI haven't seen the show on Broadway, but was privileged to have seen the tour a few years ago. While some of the staging was amazing other parts did not blow me away. I saw the movie and loved it. I love both. Movies are bound to be different from the actual stage production and you either take it or leave it. So you either like it or you don't, but I say go see the movie and see what you think.

Posted: 2/1/05 at 6:36pmI thought the movie was beautiful! The Phantom didn't really bother me. I was blown away by Emmy Rossum!

Well, I hated the show when I first saw it.
I am planning on seeing the movie (student discount 5 bux). If I like it, maybe I will consider seeing the show again....

Posted: 2/1/05 at 6:43pmI think the Broadway show is one of the greatest ever done. I think the film is an enthralling masterpiece. Do not miss it. It is simply breathtaking.
