Hey guys..... any members of the theatremania gold club here.... is it worth it financially?
I became a member of the TheatreMania Gold Club two months ago. It's been awesome for me. I really love being a member. I've seen all types of things for $4.50 a head I never otherwise would've seen.
Their offerings are mostly off-off-Broadway and off-Broadway. The occasional Broadway show will pop up, often during previews. "Jersey Boys", "In My Life", "Absurd Person Singular", "Seascape", and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" were all on there recently. The big name shows go VERY fast. The only way to get into them is to check the site obsessively. I usually do three times a day. Most of the bigger shows are only for weekday nights or Wednesday matinees.
I estimate that I've saved about good $500-$600 in tickets so far, which you can't beat. I've seen such titles as "Sides: The Fear is Real...", "Once Around the Sun", "In My Life", "A Woman of Will", "Thom Pain (based on nothing)", "The Great American Trailer Park Musical", "Captain Louie", and "Slut". There's always SOMETHING there, from bizarre cabaret acts to classical revivals in the East Village.
Hope that helps.
I've been a Gold Club member for two years and have always been extremely happy with them. Their selection is superb; it ranges from big-name Broadway to off-off Broadway. I cannot say enough good things about the service.
I'm a member - they are great. I don't think you are allowed to mention what shows they offer though (specifics), so be careful.
ABSOLUTELY!!!
