Everyone, take half the amount of time you spend on these boards and create something: a show, a song, a piece or art.

Posted: 3/25/11 at 1:33pmGood idea! I just took 5 minutes and created a software program that blocks internet users who take the internet so seriously that they end up feeling that other internet users need a break from internet using. It was really complicated programming but...wait...hey! Were'd ya go??!

I LIVE for Broadway shows. Book of Morman was my 341st since I tuned 15 (I'm 123 now).
I also volunteer 7 days per month including 5 hours at a crisis hotline and monthly Sunday visits to a residential rehab in Princeton. This has been an ongoing thing for me for over 3 years and I love it as much as shows!
Volunteering makes me feel a little less selfish and shallow.
I wish I were more creative, however. I'd love to write!

Oh, yeah. It's a Friday thread.
They're not just for the Off-Topic Board anymore!

DO SOMETHING instead of sitting in front of a computer, chatting about things you have never seen or dislike.
I have seen this thread and I dislike it.

once a month is 123?
So, if you've seen 341 shows since turning 15, you've seen approximately 3 shows a year every year for 108 years.
I'd love to hear about the shows 108 years ago!

I was showing someone a photo a baby picture of me that I found and it was in black and white and taken by Matthew Brady.
My parent's first date was "Our American Cousin" if could survive that night, they could survive anything.

Posted: 3/25/11 at 2:15pmdamn i wish i knew how to post a graphic or picture in here easily....i have a great one of a Nitpicker coffee mug. What would be most helpful in MOST chat rooms is to resist the tendency to attack an individual and discuss civilly the facts instead....beginning with no has the right to tell anyone else how to spend their free time constructively. You can have an opinion of how someone else does, sure, welcome to it. But if you express that opinion as unwanted advice, be prepared to have it thrown back at you. The cliche? all have opinions like all have buttholes. And THEY ALL STINK. Thinking "yours don't smell" is not constructive nor attractive.

I once built a bridge over the Khwae Yai River but some jerks blew it up

Posted: 3/25/11 at 2:31pmthanks i'll try to post that way...much obliged...i think i had assumed when pasting a URL i'd use "optional link" window instead of "optional image". i don't store many JPEGS on the laptop, which is where i thought i'd somehow insert an "image" that was not a "link." SEE this thread CAN be constructive!

Posted: 3/25/11 at 2:40pmBREAKING NEWS!!!!! I saw Anything Goes and Catch Me If You Can (TWO shows in one day -- imagine!!!!!) This marks numbers 1152 and 1153 of all the shows I have seen on Broadway -- doesn't that make me special? I just love to gloat about how many MORE shows that I've seen than other people -- it makes me feel SO superior!!!! Isn't everyone here impressed by my fantastic achievement? Come on now, I know you're all just DYING to hear about how many shows I've seen, what I thought of them, where I sat, what kind of souvenirs I overpaid for at the ripoff stand.

HEY GUYS GUESS WHAT.
I've seen at least one show a month every month since I was twelve years old. Obviously that means I'm Jebus.

I just made these scale replicas of Glinda and a previous poster with lint from my dryer. It took much less time than I had anticipated. Now I have time to see a Broadway show!

edited to add: the most time consuming part was separating the different colors of lint. OY!
