I am going to New York City from March 12-15. I would like to see 2 shows on Sunday, and a night show on Monday and Tuesday. The way the shows are, I can only see the WOMAN IN WHITE or THE COLOR PURPLE! Not both!!
Which one should I go and see???
Schedule:
Sunday Mat:Woman In White or Color Purple?
Sunday Night: 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Monday Night: RENT
Tuesday Night: The Light In The Piazza

The Woman in White
I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

And Starbucks will use the words 'large' and 'small', not pretentious crap like grande and tall.

Neither show is perfect.
I found The Color Purple far more emotionally engaging.
The Woman in White has an admirable scenic production, but if you took that away, there would be much less of a show than The Color Purple. Face it, you cannot hum scenery.

The Woman in White is just beautiful. I found TCP a little dull, but WIW had me on the edge of my seat, even after the 5th time!

Go support Oprah! I love her, sorry. But I'd say TCP. Though I haven't seen it yet I find the music exciting. I may rush WIW on Wed. afternoon of that week. But go see Purple; LaChanze supposedly gives a performance that is not to be missed!
Cheers,
C.

It seems like the WOMAN IN WHITE takes the majority!! :) I am just sad that the leading lady in it will not be there since she is taking a medical leave
Is the one taking her place good???

TCP is much better than WiW.
If you will be back soon - see WiW. TCP should be open longer.
Then again, if you come back soon, you could catch Maria Friedman.

Posted: 1/23/06 at 8:59pmIt all depends. The Color Purple has more upbeat songs and a lot more dancing. The Woman in White is a mystery and will have you on the edge of your seat. I loved both shows, but Woman in White needs support to stay open. The Color Purple will have a much longer run!
