Her husband, Taye Diggs, is on a TV show on UPN(I think its UPN).

No, the only movie I know about is Ask the Dust, which she filmed in June. Taye's new show is Kevin Hill, and he said they're working on getting Idina on the show as a guest.

There is this rumor from USA Today. I just saw it.
• "Taye Diggs ,touting his new UPN series, Kevin Hill, said the producers are in talks to get his wife, Idina Menzel to do the show. She is in Wicked on Broadway, which is why she was not at the Emmys."

yeah, i saw that. I thought it was interesting that they said she wasn't at the Emmys because she's in Wicked, when she was out of Wicked on Sunday.

When i saw the show on sunday (with kristy cates) the lady at one of the merch counters said idina was filming an episode of RESCUE ME...

My good friend saw her on Sunday and said Ms Cates was outta this world! She and Jen didnt have the sort of chemistry onstage yet, but it was her first time up there so---Rock on Kristy!!

omg kristy was amazing (no comments on shills please...i assure you i am not). I have seen it three times (2 with idina) so it was great to see someone so fresh in the role. Kristy brought a lot to the character...and has an AMAZING voie (her wiz and i and finale of defying rivaled those of idinas....no lie!) Her riffs were amazing- and i was lucky nough to experience it in the front row thanks to the lotto! Seriously- she was incrediblle...and i was so happy for her- when she came out for her bow- JLT pushed her out front (i thought that was soooo nice) and the audience went nuts. She was so surprised she began crying....i was so happy for her! (HER NO GOOD DEED BROUGHT DOWN THE HOUSE!!!) She was fresh, vocally impressive, and performed like shed been doing it for months. I cannot give her enough praise.... JLT was also amazing- her popular gave me a stomache ache i laughed soo hard. George Hearn spits A LOT ... like insane projectile....and thats about it. I didnt particularly care for him. JOey mac was not horrible....carole shelly was amazing. I had a great time...and consider myself lucky to see kristy give such a commanding performance!

aw, that's great! I'm really happy for Kristy. Hope she gets many more opportunities to shine.
