Wow, you must have really hated War Paint.

I would say War Paint and Bandstand did better than mixed to negative. Idk I just feel like the Tony's should make up for 2014 where they shut out all the creative shows, and only nominated commercial stuff. Would be nice to see War Paint or Bandstand join the other three to make all Best Musical nominees original, creative, and not commercial.

What's up with all the Groundhog Day sympathizers?

Anastasia will no question be around longer, but that of course doesn't mean it's going to get nominations. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as well.

In terms of reviews, Soo and Osnes got much better notices than Noblezada, Benton, and Altomare who all received pretty mediocre reviews.

I think Bette Midler, Christine Ebersole, Patti Lupone, and Laura Osnes will be nominated. Eva, Denee, Christy, or Pippa will take the last spot.

Jon Jon Briones or David Hyde Pierce could get snubbed. Who knows.

I would like to see War Paint nominated over Groundhog Day. 

Corey Cott received very nice notices today.

There's nothing wrong with it. But he's trashing other shows he hasn't even seen...

So overall mixed to positive reviews. 

I can't wait to read Jesse Green's review. I wish he started at the Times earlier to review this.

I think the Tony nominations will go for a new creative innovative musical like Bandstand to fit with the rest of the category. Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, Natasha Pierre, Bandstand. All totally original new musicals. Leave out the Groundhog and Anastasia and the Chocolate Factory.
