 Jul 15 2018, 04:34:10 PM
A few friends of mine thought that there were Broadway theatres all over the country, with a couple in every state.

This is a harmless little thread, not your cup of tea, that's fine, skip it. Find some bigger fish to fry.

OP, don't worry about them.

Free/Spare/Cheap Playbills

Sometimes on eBay people will sell their playbills in bundles. That may be a good place to look to start to build your collection. Best of luck to you!

BWW Tech: Can you please do something about the ads on the boards?

Gotta agree, the Facebook “prize” ads are so irritating and make the site difficult to use

Cheap Ticket Advice

Not sure about DEH, but depending on how Mean Girls does at the Tonys it might be safer to get those tickets ahead of time

Broadway Roulette experiences
 Apr 15 2018, 11:39:49 PM

I’ve never tried this, but tomorrow evening (Monday 4/16) only has 6 performances: Phantom, Summer, OOTI, School of Rock, Rocktopia, and Chicago.

Monday’s could be a good way to increase the odds of getting tickets to a show you really want, if one of the shows you want to go to has a Monday performance.

(Crossing off 4 of these narrows it down to two shows.)

Ariana Grande Wicked?

This seems pretty fake. What are your thoughts on this (if it happened to be real)?

2018 - 2019 Touring Season
 Mar 3 2018, 10:03:11 AM

The venue’s website (ordway center for the performing arts) describes mamma Mia and 42nd street as “Ordway Original productions”.

Of course Bat out of Hell and Spamalot could be non touring productions that are produced by a different theatre.

2018 - 2019 Touring Season

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts In St. Paul, Minnesota occasionally has tours (American in Paris and Hedwig last year, Kinky Boots this year)

They also produce their own musicals frequently, but next season will have the Falsettos tour, and then they will be producing Mamma Mia, Elf, Bat out of Hell, and Spamalot.

Still more to be announced

Bandstand Tour Still Happening?
 Feb 19 2018, 04:20:11 PM

I just saw “The Humans” tour, but in the Playbill I noticed the company that produced the tour, Allied Touring, lists “Bandstand” as an upcoming production. Could this be a sign that, despite no news, the tour is still happening?

Waitress National Tour (RUSH/Day-Of Policy)
 Feb 18 2018, 03:57:46 PM
It was in Minneapolis in November. For us, there were $25 rush tickets available. A few friends of mine had luck with the rush line, but I didn’t try it because I already had tickets.

After its run in London, the show launched a tour around the UK. Is there any chance it’ll tour the US now that it’s not on broadway?
Best experience you've had at a show?
 Feb 7 2018, 10:46:39 PM
Seeing the national tour of Matilda about a year ago really sparked my love of theatre, our seats were in the third level balcony in the back, but I was smiling the whole time. The first show I’d seen with that level production value, I was simply stunned. A month later I saw Wicked at the same theater, we won the in person lottery and were seated in the third row. Finally, seeing “Phantom” the first time (current tour). The first note of the overture evoked tears and goosebumps!

It’s going to the Ordway in St. Paul, MN next season. No word on how long it’ll be there but I could see myself attending it 8 times (if it’s here a week)

The Ordway In St. Paul is getting Falsettos (confirmed by rep I talked to) and they’re producing Mamma Mia. Full announcement for Orpheum will be in 6 days and full announcement for Ordway will be at the end of this month.
