Rags at Goodspeed Oct 30
2017, 10:34:13 AM
what I find interesting is that the original, prior to its run that lasted less than a week on bwy, back in 86 was for a time, arguably, the most highly anticipated show of the 80's... for various reasons...
though this now transformed rework is closer to meeting those once epic expectations, the buzz is well kept...
The score has imo opinion always held its own w Les Mis, King and I, Gypsy, West Side Story, Fiddler etc) - but now has a book that can hold its own at this time of libretto renaissance.
Old guard, new show.
This could get interesting.
