I know this is old, but I wanted to add to it in case other parents were finding this thread via google (as I did) before taking their kids. I took my 14-year-old high schooler last night, and she wanted to leave at intermission. I think it's really important to judge based upon your kid not just the age. I am not conservative at all (We attend church, but we are hardly the "religious right" and voted for Obama, and I let my kids read whatever they want) and took this same daughter to Avenue
