Anyone seeing FOLLIES in LA tonight?

I saw the production early in the run in NY and am thrilled that the company seems even stronger. The lush full orchestrations are in place. I loved loved loved everyone (except the poor kid who had to cover Roscoe at the last minute).

Of the featured cast changes, it was lovely to see Sammy Williams, and Carol Neblett's was a very moving and rich voiced Heidi.

I saw it Xmas eve. I loved the show and the set. I thought both kids were great (Curt Hansen and Emma Hunton) but I agree that Ripley sounded bad throughout. Her overall vowel pronunciation was weird - which I can live with. But she frequently was flat and sounded tired. Everyone applauded of course but imho she's not having the best time - at least vocally.

I really hope people see this! Here's my long two cents (with spoilers):

I attended last Saturday's evening performance of The Glass Menagerie at the Taper. Judith Ivey was freaking amazing as Amanda. She was irritating, yet charming; hilarious, but tragic; a pillar of strength, but heartbreakingly vulnerable. But most of all, she is loving. Ivey's Amanda would do anything for her children.
