2022-2023 Touring Season  Jul 6 2022, 06:15:27 PM

Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but it's got the list of stops:

I saw, too, but (unless it was a subtle and genius hint) I think that was the 8th tweet out of 13 in their thread. I agree it's unsurprising since two of the three shows had been announced in previous seasons, but were postponed. I'd probably expect them to also add 'Les Miz' since that is also from a previous season and there's room in the show's schedule.

2022-2023 Touring Season  Jun 23 2022, 04:44:24 PM

LA's Center Theatre Group announced the 22/23 season at the Mark Taper and also teased a few shows for the Ahmanson:

* Ain't Too Proud – Dec 13, 2022–Jan 1, 2023

* 1776 – April 5–May 7, 2023

* A Soldier's Play – May 23–June 25

No indication as to when the full season would be announced, but it will most likely be in the (ever ambiguous) "coming weeks."

2022-2023 Touring Season  May 5 2022, 10:04:31 AM

I've heard from a couple of people saying that the Kennedy Center will be this Tuesday (May 10).

Out of the remaining major markets, we have Des Moines today, Indy on the 14th, and then Sacramento, CTGLA, Chicago and Toronto (unknown dates for those four). Although they're more mid-tier, more Nederlander markets should be coming soon as well. And there are two BAA markets (Fresno and Albuquerque) still out there with no dates.

Just a heads up: the current Waitress tour is ending after the engagement in New Orleans this summer. I received a notice about it ending from one of the venues that had previously announced an engagement to take place there in Jan 2023. I also confirmed its ending with their PR team. Other venues that have previously announced it as part of their 22/23 season will be making announcements shortly.

Don't know yet if it'll return in another season or in a different format, but th

Rumor has it that Wicked is playing over the holidays at the Kennedy Center. I could also see 1776, A Soldier's Play, Book of Mormon, Les Mis, and maybe Lion King coming.

Yes. Here's a description I found:

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. is the ultimate tribute to the legendary Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. The elevated concert experience brings a community together with timeless music that speaks to the complicated human condition, honoring the impassioned and transcendent music of one of America’s most beloved singer-songwriter.

Looking at the large gaps within the current lineup of shows among venues in the west, CTG has, among others, the options of 1776, A Soldier's Play, ATP, Frozen, Book of Mormon, Superstar. I agree ATP will be there over the holidays. Hollywood took a lot of the newer shows, unfortunately, albeit there weren't many options. CTG also has an outstanding engagement with Les Mis left from 20/21, but the show is booked heavily in the east, so it'd have to take place summer 2023.

I don't know if this is a major indication of a tour going non-equity, but the My Fair Lady tour is starting to do split weeks in 22/23 (e.g. Sarasota, DC, Sioux Falls).

Cher Show is expected to go out in the 23/24 season produced by Big League Productions/Broadway & Beyond

2022-2023 Touring Season  Jan 17 2022, 04:37:25 PM

Hi, friends! Since the last thread was for the 20/21 season, this is a thread to keep track of all of the news and updates for the 22/23 touring season. Unfortunately, I don't have time to do my traditional spreadsheet, but hopefully this thread will be enough to keep ourselves updated.

Season Announcements should be coming very soon, with the bulk happening between February and May. Most venues are looking to go back to their traditional timeframe for their announcement, but things are still subject to change given the current state of things.

Based on booking and marketing sites, we should only see a few new, direct-from-Broadway shows and a few returning shows that closed at the beginning of 2020. There will also be a few shows that will close after the 21/22 season (notably Rent). Overall, it should be a very exciting season and hopefully your dream season will come to your town.

For those who enjoy making predictions, I do have a spreadsheet that tells you which show played in which season and how old the show was when it played there. It also has a future show projection sheet that I've accumulated from different sites. I'll be updating this file as announcements come in. You can find that here

I'll admit that, although I like to keep track of things, I don't know everything, so hopefully we can keep each other informed!

2020-2021 Touring Season  Dec 30 2021, 06:52:14 PM

I doubt we'll see a OOTI revival tour in 22/23, but it's entirely possible.

Memphis is a Big League Production: http://bigleague.org/?portfolio=memphis-2022-2023

I agree that a lot of these returning older shows, like Memphis and A Chorus Line, will most likely be non-equity.

2020-2021 Touring Season  Dec 30 2021, 05:35:56 PM

Mockingbird is still set to start in 2022 and some venues are already offering individual tickets. Haven't heard of any changes, so it's probably still on. I also haven't seen anything saying Richard Thomas won't be in the lead, but it's possible someone else may step in since it'll have been a long time from the initial announcement.

2020-2021 Touring Season  Dec 30 2021, 05:08:35 PM

Just conclusions drawn from web searches. For example, Legally Blonde's production company has it listed as going from 2022-2023: http://bigleague.org//?post_type=portfolio&p=275

Same for Chorus Line. It looks like Bond has picked up Annie and 9 to 5, and are currently accepting offers for full and split weeks and single shows from venues. Just an assumption they'll go in 22/23, but that's what I've concluded from my observations.

2020-2021 Touring Season  Dec 30 2021, 04:52:49 PM

According to booking group sites and other resources, here are a few of the new (direct from Broadway and returning from hiatus) shows we could see starting in 22/23:

  1. Tina
  2. Jagged
  3. Phantom
  4. Les Mis
  5. Chicago
  6. Memphis
  7. Beetlejuice
  8. Aladdin
  9. Book of Mormon
  10. A Soldier's Play
  11. A Chorus Line
  12. 9 to 5
  13. Annie
  14. Legally Blonde
  15. 1776

Maybes:

  1. Groundhog Day
  2. The Bod
2020-2021 Touring Season  Dec 29 2021, 09:41:48 AM

Hi! Unfortunately, I won't have the time to do my traditional spreadsheet for the touring shows this season. I can start a chat thread, but I'm spread as thin as I can be at the moment. Hopefully, someone will take up the mantle.

As for season announcements, I've reached out to a few venues that have been January announcers in the past and none have any firm dates. I would suspect that Baltimore will be in its usual time (mid-January), but I'll be very interested in see

This was the message I just got regarding Aida:

"The updated production of Elton John & Tim Rice’s Aida will be presented with Stage Entertainment in Germany in the spring of 2022, postponing the North American tour Disney Theatrical had planned for 2021."

2020-2021 Touring Season  May 14 2020, 05:44:35 PM

Aida's performances in Fort Worth (Jun 22-27, '21) were just cancelled for some reason... Maybe because of Frozen closing, they'll want to use their theatre and begin on Broadway sooner?? I haven't seen any other theatre cancel their venue's run (yet), so maybe it's just a random cancellation...

A few interesting observations from today:

-North Charleston, SC announced their season today with Oklahoma! playing on January 29-31, 2021. I didn't realize they were splitting weeks in their first season, so maybe they're going non-equity? They are presenting Hamilton in 21/22, so that's cool for them.

-All of the Canadian stops for Wicked were cancelled, even the stop in Ottawa in August/September.

-Providence sent an interesting note via email that mi

robbyshishkabobby said: "This pertains to the current season, but due to Covid-19, Miss Saigon will not be playing any more performances on tour. Some cast members of the tour have been posting on social media."

The Play That Goes Wrong, too (https://www.instagram.com/jacquijarrold/)

Finding Neverland (albeit a non-equity tour) ended earlier this week, and I wouldn't be surprised if a handful more prematurely end in the next month or two.
