Didn't mean for that to come out so harsh. I'm sorry.

It just doesn't seem like it would make a very good musical. I agree with Jon, to find kids up to par with the kids from the movie, they would have to use, well, the kids from the movie, but if you're just going to use the cast from the movie, what point is there to turn it into a musical when the movie is already so great? I've seen this movie more times that I would like to admit, and I don't see it working as a musical.

Jack Black and Joan Cusack. They're fantastic in those roles in the movie and, if for some reason "School of Rock" was made into a musical, I would want them to remain in those roles. Dewy Finn is not Dewy Finn if he isn't played by Jack Black.

Spelling Bee- Chicago Cast

So, Spelling Bee began its open run here in Chicago tonight. Anyone see it?

By the way: Has anyone else noticed that Chip's last name was changed to Berkowitz?

I just listened to your clips, Rath. Wow. Just....wow!
re: Mamma Mia, .. What are your thoughts.

I hate Mamma Mia. The plot was weak and dumb. Basically to me, it was like an ABBA concert with a plat and...without Abba.

Ashley, you took mine.
Um..."The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" they mention Washington DC ("Winner's destination, Washington DC"). Does DC count as a city? Sure.

Congratulations, Katie! I saw her as Galinda in Chicago and really preferred her to Kendra. Way to go, Katie!

BEST. IDEA. EVER, BSoBW2!
re: Spelling Bee love!

That's exactly why I'm worried, Liotte. I don't really have the option of seeing this cast on Broadway and, being in Chicago, I can see that cast. I'm dying to see Sarah Saltzburg and the rest of the cast and I'm hoping that the show will be just as good with other talented individuals.

"I really think this show is the cast."

Do you think it will be just as good with different casts or will it lose some of its magic?

re: 'Love Heals' Opinions?

I like it except for one thing. It kind of reminds me of those CDs that the American Idol finalists put out. But that's jsut me.
