Be More Chill Announces Closing!

Really enjoyed the performance given from this cast- they were great. A couple of awesome songs too (Michael in the Bathroom and Do You Wanna Ride for certain). The overall story however...I guess the "teen musical heir to Dear Evan Hansen" takes were way too hot...

Very sad news. But wow, what a legacy this show leaves behind...

For me personally - it was really great to re-connect with some Broadway favorites in Angie and Michael. That’s part of the “good stuff” in Broadway that is always enjoyable for a fan.

The cast was awesome top to bottom. Unfortunate it didn’t fair better at the Tony’s. I guess that was it’s undoing despite its popularity among the fans. With the inevitable popularity of the upcoming Netflix special, I wouldn’t ru

Hello to everyone in the AMAZING Broadway World Community! Here's a fun little promo our show is doing in the spirit of our favorite shows and the upcoming Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Thought our Broadway segment of our listeners may enjoy...

"The 2019 Broadway All-Star Team"

Vote for your favorite Broadway stars to be included on the 'Break a Bat!' 2019 Broadway All-Star Team. We're highlighting the best of the best, and true to our show- will reveal the results in a surprise baseball parallel. 100 candidates have been chosen based on 2019 performance. Not all candidates are necessarily in shows that are still running, but were at some point this season. Select up to 10 of these outstanding actors and actresses as we fill a roster of 30. Balloting runs through Sunday, June 7th. We'll reveal the full roster as voted on by you the fans during the Week of July 8th on the 'Break a Bat!' Podcast on iTunes. NOTE- To keep things level, we selected no more than 5 candidates per show.

Happy voting! (Link below)

Happy Tony's Eve everyone! Some exciting news for you...Episodes 3 and 4 of 'Break a Bat!' have just been released on iTunes and SoundCloud (links below):

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/break-a-bat/id1465846187

https://soundcloud.com/user-750785677

Episode 3 is baseball-centric, as we interview Yankee blogger Suzie Pinstripe of BleedingYankeeBlue.com for a 'State of the Yankees.' Be sure to lookout for the Julie Andrews and Ben Platt mentions...

Episode 4, however, is just what the doctor ordered for tomorrow night's show. I'm sure many of you are familiar with The Theatre Podcast, and its incomparable host Alan Seales. Alan has been running this incredible podcast with his producer Jillian since last year, and they were nothing but wonderful to us when it came time to launch 'Break a Bat!'

We were fortunate enough to have Alan on this episode to preview the 2019 Tony Awards. You'll definitely get the sense of that fan passion that is so integral to the magic of both baseball and theatre in this one, as well as being invested in the long run. We'll cover everything from winner and upset predictions, James Corden's outstanding showmanship, and the lasting historical impact of some of this season's shows. And true to Break a Bat! form --- a fun Broadway/baseball parallel is drawn with the Yankees' most theatrical All-Star: Aroldis Chapman, and his translator Marlon.

If you haven't already- you can connect with The Theatre Podcast in the following ways.

The awesome support we've received thus far has been incredible, and I can't thank this incredible Broadway fanbase enough for helping make that possible. We really hope you enjoy these two episodes, and as always, we're open to your feedback and would love to have you on one day. Feel free to contact us either here on BroadwayWorld, or our Instagram @chapman_on_broadway !

Hello everyone,

Happy almost Tony's Week!

Al and Scotty here from the newly launched Break a Bat! podcast. In no ways are we looking to promote on this wonderful site, however, we wanted to reach out to all of you Broadway fans---as we'd love your involvement in our new project.

We're a podcast that's meant to broaden the fan base of the baseball and theater crowd. An attempt to show that the two don't have to be separate entities, and maybe break some stigmas in the process. We're avid baseball and Broadway fans who chose sports over theater in high school, but with a new generation upon us---why not acknowledge their similarities and celebrate them together!

The Apple Podcast link to our first two episodes is below:

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/break-a-bat/id1465846187

We are also on SoundCloud for those who don't have an Apple device.

Please reach out to us if you have any interest in coming on. Our affiliated Instagram account at the moment is @chapman_on_broadway - where you can also find the show link in our bio. If anyone in the community has interest in joining us as either a caller or expert fan with points you'd like to come on with for either field ---feel free to DM us! We're recording episodes 3 and 4 next week, as we put baseball and Broadway on all-out collision course. The result is going to be quality content, that will hopefully be made even better by the involvement from all of you wonderful folks on Broadway World!

Best,

Al and Scotty
