Tom Hooper directing 'Les Miserables' film

I haven't posted here on BWW for a few years, but I feel so strongly about one casting choice I had to chime in: Michael Keaton as Thenardier! Ever since I saw Much Ado, that's been my personal dream film casting.

As for the rest, Hugh Jackman is perfect...for Javert, although I really can't think of any better/more likely Valjeans. And I'm holding out hope for a Colm cameo as the bishop!

Starts to glimmer when you know
Winds of change are set to blow
And sweep this whole land through -
Morning Glow is long past due."

Top 5:
1. Let the Sunshine In (OBCR)
2. Let the Sunshine In (Actor's Fund Concert)
3. Being Alive (Doyle Revival)
4. Louder Than Words
5. 30/90

I've went through a few Hair phases, and it was recently my birthday!

Well, this past summer included The Producers, and the summer before had Les Miz.

Hairspray doesn't seem too far fetched, though. I might see it if that were the case.

Four of those shows were done exactly five years ago. Then again, that's kind of what they do - recycle the same four or five shows every four or five years. Damn you, Paul Blake!

And NGD, with very few exceptions, The Muny is local.

I guess I can - once again - hope against hope that the seventh show is Ragtime. *sigh*

re: [tos] tour?
 Sep 16 2008, 11:41:29 PM
Look at it this way - if they did tour, they wouldn't even need a bus and a truck. They'd just need a fair-sized mini-van!

Or they could cram their lives in a U-Haul...

That said, I really doubt it. (But I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it do so!)

re: Signature Theatre (Virginia) to mount Les Miserables
 Sep 14 2008, 02:05:56 AM
Not gonna lie, I'm supremely jealous of the state of VA right now. I've always said that if it was ever given a chance, Les Miz would work brilliantly in an intimate space.

That said, you know that if it works and is a sucess, they'll mount it at Cirlce in the Square (or some other small broadway house), so they can make Les Miz money without spending Les Miz money.

You know, it's sad to see Mindy shot, but she was kinda Cheyenne's vampire...

Maybe we get to vote on who killed Mindy, like in The Mystery of Edwin Drood - they did start the episode with "Perfect Strangers"...

^ Very true - I was looking for a copy for about four and a half years (after narrowly losing out on an eBay auction), then a few months ago, I found a copy at my campus' library!

Has Mother Bernadette been reached for comment yet? Or has St. Patti already had her ex-communicated?

I'd go with Daniel Reichard as GOB, Raul as Buster, and Norbert Leo Butz as Michael. But Patti as Lucille is inspired!

I really hope that girl gets to play Dot in about 15-20 years.

The best one I ever saw on YouTube was the combo of Avenue Q and Fiddler on the Roof - Avenue Jew!

(or was that something else?)

re: John Lloyd Young & John Gallagher Jr. (Cubby's former clients)
 Jun 4 2008, 03:35:16 PM
Am I the only one who's been expecting an Avenue Q mention at somepoint? While all of the Tony-winning cameos so far have been great, other than Julie White, weren't they all favorites in their categories? (Not that I'm doubting Cubby's influence, mind you.)

Best line:
"You got all that from a song? I thought it was about pirates or something!"

BTW, it also did that with a couple of my Forbidden Broadway CDs, though it usually doesn't.
