While I think this is a horrible idea, with the language toned down I may now be willing to take my son to see it.
I absolutely loved the show in its original state.

There were a several times I had trouble hearing the actors at Catch Me if You Can last Sat. The orchestra seemed incredibly loud, especially during the first act. Pinstripes was the worst, with Tom Wopat barely audible at times.

My seats in the Mezz. were perfect! I've heard a lot of people say that the stage is really high and it is best to avoid the first several rows of the orchestra.
BTW, for those that have seen it from the orchestra, how well can you see Felicia on the shoe?

I pretty much cry at every (good) show. I most recently cried at Priscilla!
