Thank you, I didn't know that!

The 77th Annual Tony Award Nominations for 2024

Can someone explain why Green said Cole Escola should have been nominated? I mean, I totally agree, but "Oh, Mary!" hasn't even moved to Broadway yet. Was it just a shout out?

TINA Previews

Oh, boy; I think we were on the street around 11:00. But the crowd was absolutely frenzied coming in, so the show started a little late.

TINA Previews

I haven't commented here in quite awhile, but check in periodically. My partner, my sister, niece and I went to the first night of previews. We all loved it. While (IMHO) the book could use some editing, Adrienne Warren is absolutely astounding. She received a standing ovation in the middle of the first act, (I've only seen that for Jennifer Holiday in "Dreamgirls" and Andrea Martin in "Pippin" and everyone was on their feet for the finale, which was, for lack of a better word, incredible. I've been going to Broadway since the early eighties, so have a lot to compare it to. For Warren's performance alone, this is not to be missed.

A special shout out to the ushers at the Lunt-Fontanne; the most professional and courteous I've ever encountered. My partner relies on a walker and not only did they escort him to his seat in the orchestra, engage in lengthy conversation while they helped him, but they also came to him right before intermission to see if he needed the restroom. And just before the show ended, they brought him his walker so he could beat the rush of the crowd. They were also right on top of people using their cell phones during the performance. An awesome, memorable night at the theatre.

re: Dreamgirls Costume Change (Original Production)
 Jan 23 2017, 01:21:32 PM

Do you recall how they did the costume change at the curtain call of the original production of La Cage Au Folles when Les Cagelles were on stage in full costume and make up and they all turned around as I recall and were suddenly wearing khakis and blue shirts sans wigs, etc.? That blew me away!

I don't usually post here but read a lot of the posts that are of interest and I was wondering if anyone has heard any word of mouth about this show soon to have a limited run at La MaMa?

Other Desert Cities ticket

Does anyone know if there is a refund policy at the Booth Theater for someone who has become hospitalized? I purchased two tickets for Friday's evening performance and will only use one and I can't reach the box office. Thanks for any help.

Sorry, a bit off the "Morman" topic, but does anyone know if there will be a performance on the Tonys by the cast of "Priscilla"? I'm pretty sure shows that are not nominated for best musical are not invited to perform, but would they really pass up this opportunity?

Brooke Shields, what? Yes, I've read the thread and you never actually stated that you have seen Christie Brinkly in Chicago on Broadway, or when, unless I'm missing a post. Enough said, we seem to agree anyway, and I've apparently become addicted to posting here, most likely to the chagrin of others! Sorry! Good conversing with you, and have a good evening!
