Good word of mouth for Love Never Dies in Melbourne May 22

I'm sure they have changed some details, I don't know the London production intimately so can't really comment. There was certainly quite a few Phantom of the Opera motifs in LND in Melbourne (Music of the Night, Phantom of the Opera, Angel of Music etc.) which surprised me. I was aware of a few lyrical changes from the cast recording but I don't know if they were implemented in the London production previously.

www.aussietheatre.com keeps a good up to date news website of theatre in Aus so it's worth checking out. Currently Love Never Dies, Next to Normal and Rock of Ages are playing. Melbourne is going through a low period at the moment now Mary Poppins and Hairspray have closed. Hopefully it picks up again soon! It's unlikely that 9 to 5 will play Australia but Sister Act is apparently in negotiation. I don't think it will open by the end of 2011 though.
