Elaine Stritch always seems drunk
 Dec 29 2013, 01:54:07 PM
Elaine has had a few surgeries as of late...hip, knee, right eye.
There's a reasonable chance she's on a good bit of pain meds
just to feel like being up and about.

CATSNYrevival must be living under
a rock...Cats a revival?

(during the "Money Song" in Call Me Madam)

Merman's singing...

Drunk heckler: "Yeah you can throw so money
my way sweetheart...I sure could Goddamn well
use a little bit of it!"

Heckling went on until she stopped the show...
left the stage for the orchestra seating mid
isle and threw "the son-of-a-bitch on west 45th st".

As per Elaine Stritch-At Liberty DVD.

I was a little late knowing about this.
Too funny!

Elaine at the Carlyle...
you could only wish that dinner and show
would be $79. That would be your bar tab only!

LuPone's Gypsy run...how long?
 Jul 27 2008, 01:50:36 PM
She usually takes her vacation Aug. or Sept.
Anyone heard how long her run in the show may
be?

re: Disney Article On The Stage Door Experience
 May 29 2008, 09:20:33 AM
Yes some actors are all smiles
and enthusiastic about the masses
at the stage door...
but there are some that don't like it
and make their 'tude about it very
obvious. I know a few.

re: Company tour?
 May 27 2008, 10:17:23 PM
This was a very well staged
production. The actors as musicians...
I loved their facial expressions and
staying-in-character while playing the
various instruments. Raul was great but
most of the cast were very strong in
their roles.

Company tour?
 May 27 2008, 09:48:39 PM
Anyone heard if the newest production
of Company will tour? Just saw the latest
revivial, with Esparza, on NetFlix...
wow! This revamped production needs a good
Equity tour.

Why would anyone "hate" Patti LuPone?

re: Merman's ashes on Broadway
 Feb 12 2008, 11:14:01 PM
Interesting replies. I tend to believe
that maybe some of her ashes were put
around the theaters she worked at...and
possibly it's true that her urn of ashes
is kept by her friend.

Now the ghost stories at Sardi's gets a
little crazy.

Merman's ashes on Broadway
 Feb 12 2008, 10:00:58 PM
Wikipedia says that her ashes
were scattered along Broadway.
I had never heard this and just
wondered if anyone else knew of
this as a fact or legend.

HAIR original B'way cast album
 Jan 24 2008, 10:40:31 AM
In my collection of cast recordings,
I have both lps and cds. Can anyone
tell me if the cd version of the Hair
B'way cast album is remastered and
sounds alot better than the lp? I assume
a cd version will be better but there
are some dull areas listening to it on
vinyl that I believe would be more
pronounced and clear in a digital remaster
on cd.

Madonna vs. Patti LuPone singing the
score of Evita???
Well whomever thinks Madonna can get
those keys, do that score better than
LuPone...are definately in a very minority
of personal opinion.
And so glad that type of musical theater
fan found BWW...you're definately in the
right place to post such an opinion.

Well thanks. Sorry it was crowded
and rushed after the show trying to
get to the Q&A. We met Patti after
that and she was nice enough to sign
my Sunset Boulevard CD. Of course she
was the best thing ALW ever did with
that musical! But she was funny at the
Q&A. Some bozo referred to her show as
"cabaret" and she went off on him. Then
he tried to smooth it over by saying he
read that reference in the local paper.
Patti replied "do you believe everything

LuPone quote in Dallas last night (funny!)
 Jan 23 2008, 01:58:58 PM
I attended the student's
Q&A with Patti last night
after her incredible 2-act
show.

Patti: "Andrew Lloyd Webber
will not change keys for anybody...
but Madonna!"

She was discussing the difficult
keys and the strain on her voice
in Evita. And PattiLuPoneFANatic,
I saw you last night, sorry I didn't
get a chance to say hello. Seemed
liked everyone I knew in Dallas was
there. Best show I've seen her do.

BERNADETTE PETERS in Dallas!

This weekend...
absolutely beautiful in
all aspects. I had seen
her in "Annie Get Your Gun"
but this was the first solo
concert of her's I have
attended. Her "It Might As
Well Be Spring" and "No One
Is Alone" are perfect and
nobody sings "Being Alive"
like Bernadette Peters. We
got to a reception afterwards
to meet her which was also a
first for me. She's drop-dead
gorgeous inside and out. Very
friendly and genuine. I couldn't

re: Problem at Wicked this afternoon.

Huh!
What has the love and
appreciation of live
theater come to when a
patron would ask for a
refund because Elphie
didn't defy gravity?
Those "patrons" should
just play it safe and
stay home with their DVd
players. Geez! And also...
they should not be allowed
a refund due to a stage
set malfunction that had
no real significance to
the acting and music that
makes a show like Wicked
so special.
