They’re pretty much bad across the board. I’ve read two positive reviews and those didn’t mention her singing. I’m guessing on purpose…? So they w

I’ve heard this version has been updated to the 1950’s hence Sugar’s 50’s dress in the artwork. Can anyone that saw the workshop confirm?

I have come across absolutely no evidence to support this claim. So I guess I'll just have to take your word for it. Whatever that's worth....

The narrative of her being homely is just false.

No one, at least not on this forum has referred to Ms. Brice as homely, but Lana Turner she was not.

"People" is a liability? And "Music That Makes Me Dance," Fanny's eleven o'clock spot, needs to go?

I kind of figured Streisand portrayed her much sexier than she was in reality - especially in "Funny Lady" when she comes out in that drop dead gorgeous beaded Bob Mackie/Ray Aghayan creation that had a plunging neck and backline for the "How Lucky Can You Get Number".

I hadn't seen "Funny Lady" in such a long time - that I completely forgot about this number. She was absolutely stunning in that number!

Fanny Brice was a very beautiful woman who was known for her style. Her stage persona was clownish, but she wore all the best fashion from all over the world and was dressed by the top fashion designers of the time. The clothes she wore in Funny Lady is accurate. She was obsessed with style and having the best of everything. The narrative of her being homely is just false. She looked Jewish and people were mainly just antisemetic during the time.

This was 2001, not 2011. She was about 18 years old here.

She goes on for at least three performances at the end of the next month. If the performance load proves vocally taxing for Feldstein (think of Lauren Ambrose -- ironic! -- who gave up one of the Fair Lady performance, even with a lovely sound), it's possible to imagine a Tuesday night or one

According to dressers I know personally on Funny Girl, Beanie is being a complete diva backstage. She’s very unkind and demanding. This is not gossip. This is fact, as it’s from the mouth of people that are actually there. This does not help her case that she’s not doing well onstage.

Honestly I wish they’d just take Beanie out, and put Julie Benko on.

Just talked to a friend who is a dresser in the show, and they say Beanie is a complete nightmare backstage. She’s totally diva mode. Bossing people around and yelling at them. It doesn’t help her case. Yikes!

I haven't listened to any of the leaked and (illegally) recorded audio from the show or even the sitzprobe footage becauseI want to go into this without any notion of what this sounds like until I get to see it for myself live and make up my own mind about it.

“Who Are You Now” was a duet in this, that strangely turned into a “people” reprise.

The dialogue in that last scene was just dumb. He’s like “Hey there Funny girl”. Beanie and Ramin look awkward together. They have zero chemistry.

”You are woman, I am man” was sung in a weird breathy voice, almost speaking. Sounded bad.

The end of “music that makes me dance” is a super let down. Normally the so

The whole thing was a mess last night. She sounds like a high schooler with no training. This is BROADWAY. There are literally thousands of talented women who can sing and act. I don’t understand the people making up excuses. The tickets are too expensive for this quality.
