Broadway Vocal Selections books - a thing of the past?
 Sep 5 2024, 10:07:18 AM

I also enjoy playing through the vocal selections, and it frustrates me that they are becoming harder to find. Everything seems to be going digital, but there's something special about having physical books close at hand. Speaking of going online, I've also started to rely more on digital tools for various writing tasks https://edubirdie.com/edit-my-paper like this site I found to have someone help me edit my work. It became a salvation. But yes, I miss those collections too. Hope they come back soon!

High School Musical Blues!

GavestonPS said: "If you can't handle the rejection youface in high school, you probably don't have the stuff to face the far greater rejection you will face in professional theater.

High school directors have a lot to consider, not just who sings pretty well, but who has demonstrated their willingness to put in the work, and who can be relied upon to "carry" a show when most of the cast are amateurs with a lot of conflicting interests and responsibilities. (YOU may know what a hard worker you are, but your director may not have seen it yet.) Some high school directors have commercial-like pressures, including making enough money on each show to pay for the next one. They can't afford--or may feel they can't afford--to risk the entire program on unproven talent. Is this the way it should be? Probably not.

It even reminds me of how bad I used to be at homework because of the constant preparation. Friends even recommended it to me https://customwriting.com/assignments.html as they saw how tired I was. My grades did improve after using this resource, but it didn't help me get the role.

I'm sorry you didn't get the opportunities and training you wanted, but you have your whole life to make up for that. High school won't be the last "dry period" you will face.

Rejection builds resilience—keep pushing forward.

Best book writer for bio-musicals
 Jun 24 2023, 07:32:48 PM

I like Lynn Nottage. She is an example for me. And in general, the genre of bio-musicals and biographies is fascinating. I know this well because I work for the site https://penfellow.com/biography-writing/ and write various biographies and memoirs for those without writing skills or who cannot structure ideas. I am glad that my biography writing helps beginners in this genre, where you can find incredible success stories that motivate you.
