My High School, back when I was there anyway, did a straight play in the fall and a musical in the spring. It was a nice mix of the old musicals/plays and the new. The only year I didn't perform in either the straight play or the musical was my freshman year, as I wasn't particularly interested in the straight play, and I was spread out a bit to thin to do the musical that year:
2000: Ten Little Indians/Brigadoon
2001: The Odd Couple (I performed in it)/Will Rogers Follies

This thread made me think of my own Muppet Cast for Anything Goes. Here's what I came up with:
Billy Crocker: Kermit The Frog
Reno Sweeney: Miss. Piggy
Hope Harcourt: Like the Phantom idea of Christine being played by a human pop singer, I thought the same idea would fit here.
Moonface Martin: Fozzie Bear
Sir Evelyn Oakleigh: Gonzo
Erma: Janice
Reno'a Angels: A bunch of female pig puppet characters
Elisha J. Whitney: Sam The Eagle
Mrs. Evangiline Harcourt
