New Musical: Unlikely Allies – Queer History Meets Revolutionary Theatre

Just wanted to share news about a new indie musical that just held its first reading at Steinway Gallery in San Francisco.
It’s called Unlikely Allies, and it’s based on the real story of the Chevalier d’Éon — a transgender spy and soldier who helped broker the alliance that turned the tide of the American Revolution.
It’s written by David Gargaro (www.davidgargaro.co.uk), a Scottish conductor and composer, and Joel Richard Paul (www.joelrichardpaul.com), a historian and legal scholar who specializes in the Founding Fathers and early diplomacy.
