purpleprince 101, Color Purple sold 12,154 out of 13,744 seats that's 88.4% of the house. Why do they need to sale more tickets? They need to raise their avg. tkt. price.

Yes, Michelle will play Shug Avery in the Natl. Tour. They began rehersal today in Chicago.

Nate Stampley, who left the color purple to join the tour of lion king, will take over the role of mufasa on broadway. Rufus Bond will play the role of mister in the national tour of the color purple opening in Chicago.

What you need to do is see both shows and judge for yourself. The Color Purple is a great show and so is Piazza. They are two competely differents shows. I really wouldn't listen to much to the opinions of people on this thread. What they can't understand or relate to they usually hate. And as we all know, opinions are like ass holes, we all have one. I LOVE THE COLOR PURPLE. I'm so glad that in America we can all have different opinions. This show will have no problems recouping its investment.

The keys for Celie in TCP are the same for LaChanze and Kentia Miller. Ms. Miller does a great job as Celie.

Congrats to The Color Purple. Three weeks in a row with over one million in ticket sales and placing at number three behind Wicked and Lion King. WOW!! It's great to see such a wonderful show doing so well.
