re: So who's going to the Tonys?
 May 23 2006, 08:57:16 AM
I am a seat filler again this year. I have alway had a great time doing this. Last year I sat in Christina Applegates seat for the first 1 1/2 hours I was on TV a lot. Then I got moved next to Megan Mullally. It's the best free way to see the show and the stars.

Don't bank on seeing any new shows come to the Chevy Theatre until 2008 and that is a maybe. They do not plan on having a Broadway Series this year.

re: Booking costs for national tours?
 Apr 19 2006, 03:27:28 PM
Most shows get about 325K-375K, except for wicked, lion king and POTO which usuall rent the venue and keep about 90% of ticket sales.
re: Anyone seen 'Ring of Fire'?
 Mar 2 2006, 09:10:06 AM
I went in having no expectations but left feeling very disappointed. Three Friends and I all felt the same way the show is a real let down and should be considered a concert not a Broadway Musical.

Tale of Two Cities should be going to Hilton.

re: 8/21 7pm Once Around the Sun- And you thought BROOKLYN was bad?!
 Aug 22 2005, 09:35:48 AM
I was the Show on 8/20 5pm. Worst crap I have ever seen. Set was crap, tickets are over priced. Score/Book crap! Acting/singing fine at best. This show looks like it was staged in a church basement and I have seen better shows in a church basement. Save your money and go see Trailer Park.

Did anyone enjoy this show at the Producers Club? What did you think of the show? How about casting for the upcoming run. I am seeing it Sunday. Any thoughts?

I hear that Barry & Fran are doing The Opposite of Sex at Dodger Stages in the fall??? Maybe it has something to do with that show.
re: Spelling Bee, Sweet Charity
 May 23 2005, 02:28:47 PM
Ok, I thought the actors in Bee were really great, very believable and likable. They need not have strong voices due to no vocal demand. The show was charming, but in my estimation not Tony worthy. Charity really captured a place in my heart for some unknown reason I am usually not a sucker for star casting but I have to say I really had a great time and didn’t want to leave at intermission.
Spelling Bee, Sweet Charity

Sunday went to Spelling Bee and It was fine, shouldn't win best musical, Charity was fantastic really loved the show. Also saw Thrill Me at York Theater, it was terrible.
re: 'Thrill Me' - 5/21 5 p.m. show - spoiler
 May 23 2005, 11:53:05 AM
I can't disagree with you more. This show was poor at best! $55.00 for top tickets! People left after the first 15 minutes of the 5pm show on Sunday. I would have left if the writer hadn't been there (I stayed out of respect). The show is bare, bare sets, bare lyrics, bare plot. Don't expect much for your money. Best of Luck theatre lovers.
