re: restaurants to eat alone at

I don't know which one's on 46th, but there's the Olympia (or Olympic...I can't remember) Diner on 49th and 8th...a million diners on 9th Ave...and of course there is the Edison Cafe in the Edison Hotel on 46th/47th between Broadway and 8th - which is great.

The idea is that they're doing it for Alan Cumming and Kate Winslet (makes sense, as her husband is Sam Mendes). That's the word on the street at least...

Is this for real? This is highly creepy.
These people are real. You do not KNOW these people.
I mean really...

1) The plural of "CD" is not "cd's," it's "CDs."
2) Are you kidding?

MONEY?!?! You think anybody involved in a Joe's Pub show makes money??? Honey, I'm sure this has nothing to do with money.

BKLYN Documentary???
 Apr 11 2007, 07:48:33 PM
Is there a DVD about Mark Schoenfeld and BROOKLYN THE MUSICAL?
According to this website:

http://www.maffeiproductions.com/#upcoming

...there is, but the link on that site doesn't work. Does anybody know anything about this?

re: the big question in the paper mill mess.....

she also sometimes worked at TUTS in houston, but they've become a roadhouse.
so the answer to that question would be "no."

re: What's the best Jesus Christ Superstar Recording?
 Apr 7 2007, 07:28:01 PM
1992 Australian cast recording. Some really strange arrangements, but crazy fierce singing you won't even believe.
re: Funny Girl at Lincoln Center?

Nancy Anderson is far from Jewish.

Julia Murney, Ana Gasteyer, and Rachel York are way too old.

Stephanie Block is interesting, but doesn't seem quite right to me.

Leslie Kritzer is it.

re: Another Grease Casting Rumor

Jenny Powers is Rizzo and Steve Buntrock is the Teen Angel.
re: Behind the Scenes: Getting Green with Wicked Leading Lady Julia Murney
 Feb 20 2007, 09:32:26 PM
She didn't mention Victoria Matlock for the following reasons:
1) She listed, in order, the women who've played the role on BROADWAY.
2) Victoria Matlock covered Julia Murney on tour. Of course they know each other.
3) Nobody knows who Victoria Matlock.
4) Few people care who Victoria Matlock is.

The CHORUS LINE movie was shot at the Mark Hellinger.
re: Tommy Tune's Grease changes (1994 revival)
 Feb 12 2007, 09:36:59 PM
Though that revival was "Tommy Tune's Production of GREASE," he really had very little to do with it. Any changes that were made were made by Jeff Calhoun - he directed it.
The biggest change, I think (aside from the significantly new arrangements - as illustrated by Billy Porter's "Beauty School Drop Out") was that since they weren't allowed to use "Hopelessly Devoted To You," Sandy sang the song "Since I Don't Have You" - a song never written for GREASE.

What do you mean Leslie Kritzer looks too old? Does she get to do much? Does she have a number or anything?
re: Where is Anne L. Nathan at these days?
 Jan 24 2007, 05:32:07 PM
I thought she went out to LA, didn't she? She's been doing a lot of TV stuff I think...
She'd be good in LEGALLY BLONDE if Orfeh doesn't work out...

re: Yeston's Next Show
 Jan 21 2007, 06:56:36 PM
He's been working on this show for years - it's not a Broadway show.
