Prettybelle's Broadway Window Card?
 Apr 18 2013, 10:30:03 PM
We've received many questions about what the Broadway window card for Angela Lansbury's 1971 musical "Prettybelle" might have looked like. It probably would have been in full color, not the less expensive two-color version used in Boston. The credits might have been the same as Boston, however, with the obvious exception of the theatre; "Prettybelle" was booked into the Majestic on Broadway. So, using the late Frederic Marvin's personal print of his original color art (created for the musical's

There is some album cover art in the collection but it is all 12 x 12. This is 14x22. If it is an album cover it would be a unique size.
Can You Identify This Poster?

Triton recently received some original poster sketches from the estate of illustrator Frederic Marvin, who passed away in January.

Among the artwork was an unused submission that we cannot identify. We have attached the image here and are hoping that someone in the Broadway world might have a guess. (We have some guesses we'll share later). Based on the other sketches in the collection it is safe to date it sometime in the 1970's, maybe 1980's.

Thanks for your help.

SCANDALOUS window cards coming soon!!

Hi All-
Just wanted to let the window card collectors out there know that Triton has received permission to issue the original window card for SCANDALOUS. The show did create a window card but did not print it. We are stepping up and should have them just before Christmas. They will be the standard 14x22 on regular window card stock and will be a limited edition.
More details to follow...just wanted to start getting the word out.
Happy holidays, everybody.

Pretty sure we have HAPPY END. Give us a call tomorrow and we'll check.

There is indeed a search function. Some of these titles are listed (like the Neeley Superstar) and others, like Happy End, are not. Try the search first, and then we're happy to help you out.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. We have a Grey Gardens repro.
Has anyone out there ever come across a poster for Chaplin with Anthony Newley? I saw the show in LA and remember both the print ad and the theatres displays but I've never seen a window card for it.

When a poster is no longer available and goes out of print we make a high-end digital copy, mounted on board. Most of the repro demand is for posters from the 50's and 60's but there are many fairly recent ones (over the past 20 years) that seem to have gone out of print almost immediately.

We haven't been able to track down a Rebecca card yet. We know a few were made for the production office (one was in the background in a NY Times photo of the producer) but we've had no luck getting a copy. Has anyone out there found one?

LA Evita also (it's yellow and red -quite stunning. The black and silver wasn't used in the US until Broadway).

We've joined this board to be in better touch with the community of theatre fans and professionals. We've got some new, unusual posters available (Kinky Boots in Chicago, repros of The Visit in DC and The Grass Harp on Broadway - taken from original poster art that was never printed). We're continuing to uncover rare gems.

Our question is, if there was one poster you can't find that you would want, even if it was a repro, what would it be?
