I agree with Gaveston's suggestions. I've seen Sunset Blvd. done with a cast of 13 and it worked very, very well.

Ditto- she's spectacular. I saw her play Margaret in a production of The Light in the Piazza and was blown away.

It's not a first national tour. It has absolutely zero connection to the recent revival.

So it looks like this is tour's contract is the lowest SETA tier ($539/wk minimum plus extra when the show recoups). As others have said it looks like a killer schedule. I've seen Lauren Blackman (Irene) before and she's very talented, so I'm inclined to see this tour if it's near me.

Bird Woman from Mary Poppins

Although I don't have an answer, I'd also just like to throw in another configuration from a production that I just saw- the Bird Woman was in the ensemble for the rest of the show while Mrs. Corry played Miss Andrews.

Diva, it was supposed to be a copro with the Fulton Theatre, but the two split up shortly before auditions were held. I don't think the casting of Clay was the reason (that happened well after they made the decision to do the productions on their own).

^^ oh yes, I heard the two theaters had quite the falling out over what was initially going to be a coproduction. Also, Ogunquit posted cast party photos on their facebook and Aiken was nowhere to be found.
