re: Newer GREY GARDENS logo

That is quite beautiful, I agree.
re: What was that thing on the wall in the Sweeney Revival?
 Aug 19 2006, 09:03:58 PM
The thing illuminated? If so, I'd think its a good guess that it is indeed seashells, as it would be a perfect fit for "By the Sea".
re: Broadbent OUT Walken IN as Wilbur and Grey Gardens Rewrites Afoot

Walken as Wilbur will certainly make for one fun set to work on.
re: Jennifer Hudson feared the big number
 Aug 16 2006, 10:43:06 AM
To me, this is just another example of Condon's mastery of this musical. He knows that that number is the bread and butter of the show - the be all and end all. I LOVE that it is so secret. Exciting!

I cannot wait for this movie!

re: DREAMGIRLS RATING....

PG-13? I'd think whatever Chicago got.

Oh, David Burtka... heart be still.
re: When was the last time you saw a professional stage musical without mic
 Aug 15 2006, 12:07:04 PM
I saw a production of Urinetown without mics, but it was in a very small, very intimate theater.

And, come to think of it, I don't even know if it was a professional production...

Gorgeous.
Actor you have seen in at least two different performances
 Aug 14 2006, 03:05:18 PM
The only one I can think of is Aaron Tveit, whom I saw as Steve in RENT (on tour) and as Link in Hairspray (also on tour, but he's on Broadway now). I'm sure there are some ensemble members, too. Actually, one I can think of is Dylis Croman, whom I saw in the ensemble of Sweet Charity and as Brenda in Movin' Out (she was outstanding in Movin' Out)

Wicked.

Someone had to say it, and I wanted to be first.

re: What went wrong with the 1988 tour of ANYTHING GOES?
 Aug 13 2006, 08:36:53 PM
Did it close early? It might have just been a limited tour that didn't get extended.
re: Did Elena Shaddow sing the anthem at the Giants game tonight (8/11)?
 Aug 11 2006, 10:43:51 PM
Can't help, and a very OT response, but Dave Flemming used to be a decent play-by-play announcer when he worked in the Boston organization... is he still good?
re: Will Makar from Idol...Where do YOU see Him?
 Aug 11 2006, 02:35:13 PM
If I recall correctly, he was 16 on the show.
re: Will Makar from Idol...Where do YOU see Him?
 Aug 11 2006, 02:27:59 PM
From that clip, he has very little stage presense... but, I remember him from Idol, and distinctly remember being impressed with him. I'd love to see him at least try his hand at something.
re: GOOD VIBRATIONS should of come out this summer!
 Aug 11 2006, 01:33:52 PM
Sure, it still would have been bad, but, yes, it had more of a chance of success had it come out in the summer.
re: Who owns the rights to FOSSE?
 Aug 10 2006, 09:56:25 PM
I'm betting Cilento would even screw that up...
re: Jon Secada/Melina Karakaredes in Cabaret
 Aug 10 2006, 01:52:42 PM
Every time I see Melina Karakaredes in anything, I'm stricken by her beauty. I'm happy to hear she was as Sally.
re: $150-200 Priced Tickets
 Aug 10 2006, 01:51:44 PM
It's interesting to see that Broadway is booming right now - which it certainly is - yet so many shows flop so miserably, so quickly.
re: Wasn't Britney Spears supposed to replace Christina Applegate in Sweet
 Aug 10 2006, 01:48:35 PM
She turned it down, and the show closed, instead of searching for a different celebrity to replace Christina.
re: Michael Ball to be in Kismet in London...
 Aug 10 2006, 12:18:41 PM
Michael Ball is most certainly a baritone. And, if I may add, one of the better baritones of our time.

And I'm with Princeton. His voice makes me melt.
