Wasn't this show based on a movie that was set in the English countryside? The first thing I would do is change the setting back to the UK.

Yes, "Whistle Down The Wind" was a movie that came out in 1961, I believe. I have the video and DVD versions.

However, FIRST, it was a book written by Mary Haley Bell, Haley Mills' mother. The original movie starred Haley Mills, Bernard Lee, and Alan Bates. The film is delightful and yes, it does take place in the English countrysid

I hope/plan to see it at least a couple of times as it's only 30 odd minutes from where I live!!!!!!

Besides, I have a date with one of the cast members! Well, sort of. Wonder if he remembers the invite??!!!

When WIW closed on broadway, I sent Daniel Torres an e-mail to his website asking of his plans. He responded on his website saying he was going to be in PQ, and he hoped to see me in Chicago!!!!!!! He said I should drop by the stage

Also appearing on the same soap opera, "As the World Turns", either just before Julianne Moore or during the same time as Julianne Moore was.......Meg Ryan!!!!!!!!!!

I remember Julianne Moore when she was on the soap opera "As the World Turns" back in the 80's I think it was. She played a dual role, a good twin and an evil twin. She was excellent even then at that early stage of her career.

Bill Nighy, LOL, what a character. I loved him in "Love Actually", and also in "FairyTale; a True Story"!

This show, "The Vertical Hour", should be well worth seeing.

BTW, the difference between Julianne Moore and Julia Roberts is one is an a

Johnny Depp and Sondheim

Great combo - can't wait! They are both just a wee bit weird, and with Tim Burton also thrown into the mix, it sould be FAB! Just my cuppa tea!

Can't wait to see/hear if Johnny can sing????????

re: Wicked or Spelling Bee in Chicago?

Between those two choices, "WICKED" most definitely! As gustof777 says, however, there are other choices.

Check out this link, there's so much more Chicago theater to chose from.

Is that Vincent D'Onofrio?

Now that's funny hahahahaha!!!

I saw Vincent D'Onofrio in "The Breakup", what has happened to him? He doesn't look as sexy as he used to in "Law and Order: Criminal Intent"??!!!! (I think that was the L&O he was in).

Sorry a 'wee' bit o/t --- referring to my above post on ALW's photo --- if someone would PLEASE PM me instructions on how to post images, I would be ever so grateful. I must be doing something wrong, but can't figure it out.

I think if they had stuck to their original plan - open in Chicago in November, come to NY in Jan - things could have been very different. They would have had a $6 million advance no matter what because of the ALW name alone. That would have kept the show doing good business till this time (of Tony Noms) and it probably would have had a bunch of nominations considering the competition really petered out.

Although there's so

So let me tell you what I want to tell my friend when he's planning a Broadway visit. Maybe you'll wise up and make better use of it than he does.

WOW what an assumption?! So this guy (is it a guy?) is assuming that everyone else is the same as his/her friend???

Talk about someone being full of themselves??!!! It's no wonder I strongly dislike critics --- ASSUMING --- all critics are the same as this one, of course.

I've watched this movie so many times, I can't bare to watch it anymore.

I'm a huge ALW and Phantom phan, but after seeing the movie so many times, I'm really sick of it.

I watched the movie mainly for ALW's music! Now I perfer to just listen to the London OCR.

re: J Robert Spencer- Love Thread!
 May 10 2006, 09:50:38 PM
I love J. Robert Spencer - he's my very fave Jersey Boy!

When I saw the show back in February, I had a 'big fight' with one of my hotel roomies, because she said 'negative' things about J. ???

Needless to say, I showed her the right way.

Thank you to Corine2 for starting this thread.

Some of this is 'sort of' true - but the real truth is that J. Robert Spencer is definitely my FAVE!

Peace and Love,
