high school musicals/plays May 27
2008, 08:29:08 PM
hey, members of my schools theatre department are going to be discussing different plays and musicals for next year. in the past we have done fiddler on the roof, taming of the shrew, les miserables, the government inspector, the secret garden, noises off, a funny thing happened on the way to the forum, and romeo and juliet. obviously, we have done a lot of period musicals and i was hoping to bring up some more modern suggestions like Sweet Charity or All Shook Up. I was just wondering

A Chorus Line, I would suggest. Maybe The Apple Tree? The Fantasticks is off-broadway, but its a really sweet story. hope this helped.

They'd have to have come what may in there, it makes the show.

I agree, I can imagine NBC being amazing. The opening scene with all these eyes shining in the dark and the set would be gorgeous. I agree, very balletic. I think the songs would have to be amazing too. Plus it would be SUCH a different musical for Disney to do. Mary Poppins, the Little Mermaid, Tarzan...finally something DIFFERENT.

Thats true about MR, but I think Nightmare Before Christmas could happen. We've seen people tap dance on the ceiling in Mary Poppins and people swinging from the walls in Tarzan. Anything possible :)
