re: The Search for the Next Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread

If the rumors are true that Autumn got Becky's track, I can't help feeling that she got the better end of the deal. The winner is only guaranteed a contract for two weeks right? Plus, Autumn would most likely go on quite a bit. She would maybe even replace Bailey if things don't go well.

I'm sorry, but I just think it's hilarious how everyone doesn't want Autumn to win because of her "sense of entitlement." Come on! You're basing this off of something said on a reality show that probably had all sorts of editing. And I also thought the "Damnit, I earned it!" comment was just a joke edited to make her sound catty.

On Wikipedia, they show Autumn being eliminated next episode with Rhiannon, Lauren, and Bailey going to the finale. According to them, Bailey wins.

I know, I know, take Wikipedia with a grain of salt obviously. However, if it's true...damn. I really don't like Bailey.

To me, the fact that he posted that on March 21 suggests to me that she IS Elle. That was right around the time the finale was taped, no?

On Autumn's Facebook Paul Canaan left her a comment on March 21 saying,

"Hiiitttttttt!!! Love it. I'm sure you're glad the madness is over. You're wonderful. I'll see you on campus."

I'm not sure if it means anything, but perhaps "campus" is a certain Harvard Law School?

I think Nikki Renee Daniels would be a fabulous Lorrell or Deena.

Have they started advertising yet? Anyway, the only things I think could possibly save this are Trevor Nunn and Jill Paice. I just really hope this won't jeopardize her career in any way. But I suppose Scarlett is an actress' dream!

According to Broadway.com, Ashley will be played by Edward Baker-Duly. Melanie will be played by Madeleine Worrall.

As much as I love Jill, she just does not stike me as a Scarlett. Melanie maybe. I'm still hoping for Haviland Stillwell, but it doesn't look very good... Anyway, Neverandy, who do you see as Rhett?

Has anyone seen Haviland Stillwell as Fantine? I love both Lea and Nikki's portrayals, so I'm curious about Haviland.

Thank you Michael Bennett! That's exactly what I meant. You put it better than I could. Yes it's about the Civil War, but if you did a basic summary of the plot, you wouldn't need to include the slaves.

MB, that is a very interesting observation. Generally, it does tend to be that way, doesn't it? Most people I know don't see slavery as an issue in GWTW. Mainly because it doesn't hurt or help the plot in any way.

I've been a fan of GWTW for years. Yes, the treatment of slaves is romanticized. But the main appeal is the characters. Rhett, Scarlett, Ashley, and Melanie have all become somewhat iconic. The slaves are not the main issue in this book. Scarlett and Rhett are, to me at least, what make the story great.

Now for the musical. I really think it could work. Now that I've thought about it, I can kind of see Jackman as Rhett. However, I don't think Paice would make a great Scarlett. I see he
