re: Your Favorite and Least Favorite Boston Theatre

Okay, okay, yes, there are two giant hideous columns, but it's 3/4 round really, and most companies who work there only stage things in front of those columns and build in front of them as well. So you don't usually have to deal with them.

The whole hearing people shuffling things around is a universal problem with Black Box theater, and if a show is staged to leave out the sides, well, that's really more a problem with staging than with the space. One might argue that it's the same pro

I'm going tonight. Can't miss the chance to see Aimee as Queenie. Long story. Also planning on going to Saturday matinée.

Cool. I was the guy who asked about what he thought about having two Wild Parties playing at the same time. Small world.

The MJL version is on my relatively short list of shows I'd like to produce for Blue Spruce, although I need to be careful; I don't want to be accused of simply stealing all of SpeakEasy's recent production ideas. :) It might be too large a show to fit in our mission statement though. The only other production of Lippa's WP that I saw had no nudity, but it was community theatre. I saw SpeakEasy's production of WP (LaChiusa) and that did have nudity (topless), and I found it rather pointless. Probably should have asked MJ about that at the See What I Wanna See talkback and see if he had a specific reason for putting that in. Ah well, opportunity is not a lengthy visitor. ("I wish!") The nudity in MJ's WP could easily be removed or backlit.

Leigh Barrett is one of the top performers in Boston. If she's in a show, you know it's going to be good. The entire cast of WP is made up of top-notch people. This is going to be a can't miss. Very excited.

Hi everyone! Google Alerts notified me about this discussion. Thanks so much to everyone who came to L5Y. We're really excited about this production, and I'm personally looking for feedback from anyone who's interested in divulging. Blue Spruce can only grow with your help.

Best,
Jesse
