I don't think there's a reason to feel unsafe in this area. Just be aware of your surroundings.
Great suggestions from the other respondents. You could also walk/trolley to the piers, about a half mile from the theater. Walking along the bay-front today would be glorious. You might even be able to glimpse the Blue Angels as they perform for Fleet Week if you hustle down there after curtain.

Thank you. As it turns out, when you're dining beforehand, they just give you a flexible entrance time. The kind folks at guest services noted that we'd be welcome to enter the performance any time between 11:00 and Midnight.

Thanks for the information, GL. We did do dinner at the Heath last summer beforehand. It was such a good way to start the evening that I'd like to do it again. I'm just doing cost/benefit analysis of losing some time inside the performance.

In a few Fridays, I will attend an 8:00 PM performance of Fun Home and then head down to the McKittrick for the late showing of Sleep No More. I know that Fun Home ends about 9:40. My questions are these:
-Is it better to taxi or take public transit down to the McKittrick at that time of evening?
-If we plan on having dinner at the Heath beforehand, do you think we lose out on much of the show by opting for a later entrance time?
-Is it even reason

More often I will stick it out to the end even if I am having a terrible time. It seems to be the most respectful thing to do for the artists at work here. A couple of times, I've left because I've been so embarrassed for the actors onstage and it was too painful to remain.
At a performance of Lady Day a few weeks back, my wife was seated next to a man who quietly snored through much of the show. His snoring crescendoed as the show did in the final number. I really, really wish he had
