Disney to Remake The Little Mermaid
 Mar 18 2018, 05:51:45 PM

There is a video on youtube that obviously a true fan of The Little Mermaid has made with their casting choices and i think it is quite genius...

LINK = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiQ53Vdki4I

I love the following casting choices they have picked...

HENRY CAVILL - PRINCE ERIC (couldn't be more perfect for the role!)

QUEEN LATIFAH - URSULA (although i think she would be good, another idea would be KATHLEEN TURNER as she has the deep sinister voice that Ursula conveys!)

KEVIN HART - SEBASTIAN

MEGAN FOX - VANESSA

SETH MCFARLANE - SCUTTLE (i think his quick wit and humour would be amazing!)

MELISSA McCARTHY - CARLOTTA (i think this would be inspired casting!)

JASON ALEXANDER - CHEF LOUIS (again, i think this would be inspired casting!)

The casting choice they have picked for one of the sisters, is ALEXANDRA DADARRIO, where i think would be a good casting choice for Ariel.

For the casting of KING TRITON, I think a good choice would be Liam Neeson.

i adored the movie from start to finish (as well as grinning like an idiot!) and nobody else could have played the prince other than Dan Stevens. he was gorgeous when he turned around in the transformation scene......PERFECT!

the only concerns i had with the film though, was how they did the big BE OUR GUEST number as it didn't seem to have the big WOW factor like the animated version had and the transformation scene could have been more powerful aswell as they all they s

"Wait a minute ... where was this 'gay scene' they having been making such a big deal out of?"  Seriously, if nothing had ever been said in the first place, I'm guessing 99.9% of the audience never would have given it a second thought ... that's how ridiculous this whole thing is!!  Now, enough about that aspect ... what did I think of the film as a whole?&nb

It's really staggering, since I started paying attention to this I see it every time. It's either a literal remark, or for example a situation that is supposed to be funny where one of the characters doesn't want to come off as gay. (For example in Grease, the moment where Danny and Kenickie hug eachother and then look shocked and try to be cool and start to comb their hair apologizing for the hug). Or some additional character that thinks the leading actor is flirting with that character while in fact he's not, etc.

So Russia can basically ban all films from the country.

Also, I would assume that 100% of the movies had a gay person working on it in some way.

Sometimes I think we are going back to the Middle Ages. It's bizarre.
"

This might be a spoiler for when the "gay moment" happens at the end of the movie. to me, it is hardly anything to make a big fuss over. we all remember that one scene at the end of the animated movie where the wardrobe dresses a man up in women's clothes. i do not understand what the big fuss is about it all. it just sounds like the same scene has just been taken from the animation and brought into this live action version.

We all know that Emma is not really a singer, but i think she does the role justice from what we have seen/watched so far and I think Dan Stevens was the perfect casting for Beast. he has proved to be a brilliant actor that can do both serious and comedic roles instead of just being known as "the guy from Downton". an example of this, would be his role in THE GUEST and NIGHT OF THE MUSEUM: THE SECRET OF THE TOMB. this article certainly proves that they did VERY well with their casting choices with an excerpt taken from it (spoken by Don Hahn who mentions Dan)...

"The Beast is played by the coolest guy, Dan Stevens from Downton Abbey who I love. It’s perfect because he’s got this amazing heart for the role and he can do drama and the darker side of it too."

The CGI of the beast, looks amazing (including the enchanted objects and the special effects). i just hope that they do the end transformation scene justice by sticking to the original score (that was featured in the 1991 animation for that one scene) and make us ladies all drool when Dan turns back into the prince with his luscious golden locks.

I had my doubts about Ewan, but have got used to it. The "BELLE" scene looks awesome and cannot wait to go and see it in 3D and in further detail. what i am disappointed with, is the way Emma Thompson sings the main title. she puts the cockney accent on way too much and spoils the song.

it looks amazing so far. I can't wait to see Luke as Gaston singing this song. he's gonna steal the scene. hope we get to see more clips over the next couple of weeks building up to the big world-wide release on March 17th.

so far, I am LOVING what i am seeing from the film...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow78zp30ioE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCOVkjPoBqM

including the recent "DAYS IN THE SUN" song...

https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/FIRST-LISTEN-New-BEAUTY-AND-THE-BEAST-Song-Days-in-the-Sun-Emma-Thompson-Performs-Title-Song-20170217

i think Emma sounds great considering she was very nervous to sing for the film. but i totally agree, Emma Thompson does not have the warmth and sweetness that Angela Lansbury had when singing the iconic song. i think she puts the cockney accent on too much for this song. when speaking in the film (from the teaser videos we have seen so far with the enchanted objects), she sounds lovely.

i did have my doubts about Ewan McGregor being cast as Lumiere, but i have totally overlooked that now the more i see.

i have just finished reading the novelization of the live action film...

and i tell you what....us fans are in for a real treat. it is going to be amazing. i was smiling (and nearly crying!) from start to finish.

after having listen to the Ariana Grande and John Legend version, i have to say, that I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!!!!! it does not have the same impact and WOW feeling that the Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson version has. sounds as if the music has been composed on a computer-based music program like GarageBand or something. it sounds terrible. I am shocked they have composed and released the song like this considering the original version of the song (for the 1991 film) really was oscar-winning worthy.......as well as it being THE SONG for the film and re-composed from one of the most famous scenes (to me anyway) created in animation.

(old version) LINK = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgYEJHJXFB4

(new version 1) LINK = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XyB01Q_Pco

although a second version of the song by Ariana Grande and John Legend was uploaded onto youtube

(new version 2) LINK = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Lm39NXYZNw

which i think sounds HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN THE FIRST (but the end is cut off)!!!!

As far as Emma goes singing the "Belle Reprise", she does not sound that bad at all. as it was only a poor quality rip taken from a website by somebody.

the more images we see and audio we here, i am getting more and more excited for this movie and cannot wait until it hits cinemas. i mean, it's only 65 days until we see the actual finished movie.

well we have 67 days left until the film comes out in cinemas to find out. none of us know what she is going to be like in the part until we see it all for ourselves when the film hits the big screen.

Well if that was the case, Bill wouldn't have chosen her for the part and i have no doubt that Dan will do a fantastic job.

Emma is exactly the best singer, but i think she does pretty well with the BELLE REPRISE and SOMETHING THERE scenes (that we have heard so far) considering she was really nervous doing the singing (as she states in the following video interview)...

I love love LOVE the dance "dip" between her and beast. i think the chemistry between her and Dan is going to be off the charts.
