Yeah, I don’t know why it would even matter if the guy is white, cisgender, male.  If they deliver on the role.  Cheyenne Jackson I would see regardless if the role was straight or not. I guess I don’t really care about much of anything off stage. If they deliver on stage.  

I guess I don’t know why there would be a need for any sexuality publicly attached to the actor played Frank… this is a sweet transvestite from transsexual, Transylvania.  This other worldly character could be portrayed by whoever.  And “if” it was someone like a Chalamet.,.. so what.  

Honestly I’d love to see some major “names” Jonathan Bailey or TImothee Chalamet or Cheyenne Jackson … if this doesn’t turn out to be a pretty bankable event, even if it was full of Broadway bankable names.  I’m not too terribly interested in the mounting.  

For me I would love to know how they pulled off the great bette Midler disappearance of hello Dolly. I found that one the most fascinating.  It was like a show after the show.  

Oh no- so by the sounds of these comments am i correct to assume it won’t make it to an end of January run? I had actually been curious to see it 

Was there any word or assumptions that the original cast will be joining? I’m curious if Andre de shields will be back 

Hello - I realize some posters are less than keen on these topics. I was hoping for some insight on a couple stage door experiences (yes realizing some have not taken place yet) both on crowd control and availability, I will be back in the city in the early winter:

- Queen of Versailles ( does Kristin Chenoweth come out/sign? Also how is the crowd)

- Ragtime (does Caissie levy come out?)

- Chess (does Lea Michele and Aaron Tviet come out sign? Crowd size and calmness?)

Is Timothee Chalamet no longer in the rumour mill? 

I definitely could see Luke Evans doing well as Frank. (I also agree Austin Butler as Rocky would be great... but unlikely). I really think Corbin Bleu will be Brad. 

 

What is going on/into the August Wilson? are they planning on keeping the setup (personally I wish they would, It's an innovative theatre design that could be beneficial to the New York theatres. I would think the latest CATS would do well in there. Just curious, if CATS was going in or something else.

I was wondering if there has been any word on whether they still plan to open Dolly! The Musical in New York this spring? or if they they plan to delay and rework the show after the reviews and reception in Nashville. As well with Ms. Parton's recent cancelation of a number of events due to health. I would love any information as I'm hoping to plan a trip around it this spring.

As much as I enjoy Kristin as a performer. I really think Sherrie Rene Scott was made for this role and would bring those nuances. In a hindsight look I wish Kristin would have taken Death Becomes Her, left in June, to do the Dolly Musical and come back to Broadway with Dolly in 2026 and have Sherrie Rene opened QoV

Has anyone heard of any projects or life updates that would explain Alice Ripley's absence? I was hoping to once again see her perform but she hasn't been on Broadway for nearly a decade, and I can't really find any concerts or anything. 

Well looks like that got confirmed quick - I would say that a Michael Mayer revival would almost confirm Lea Michele's involvement on this type of show, and it really seems to leave me to believe that rounding out the four are Aaron Tviet, Ramin Karimloo, and Solea Pffiefer. 

Looking to plan a trip either first week of April 2026 or go earlier in January. Was curious if there were any rumours for the spring that I should wait for.

If I was going to go for January was looking at: Chess (rumour), Queen of Versailles, Just in Time (hoping he extends), Death Becomes Her, The Outsiders (again), Moulin Rouge (again), Lion King (again)
