re: Good news for Broadway that the Box Office is up again...
 Jun 24 2003, 02:17:27 PM
"Ever since posters went up around town advertising new lead Tom Cavanagh, known for playing the title character on the television series Ed, box office has been booming. Last week the show was at 97.31% capacity on average. While the tuner is in the Underdog category in terms of gross, at $318,347, the box office performance is favorable when house size and ticket prices are taken into consideration."

Is great to see as a fan of Tom's and Urinetown! How long is he in for?

It was an interesting interview to say the least, if you're a Katharine Hepburn fan. They have the transcript online at:

re: Fame coming to the Shubert...
 Jun 19 2003, 01:24:56 PM
"Though there is no word on the creative team or casting, one of the musical's stars is already known--in a way. A part in the stage show is one of the prizes being awarded to the winner of NBC's American Idol-esque Fame television series. There are currently twelve finalists (six men and six women) vying for their shot at Fame."

Yuck!

I think that you'd probably be best just spending an afternoon in the city walking from theater to theater to introduce yourself with information on the fundraiser easier than calling them but I've never attempted anything of the sort myself before.

Good luck!

I saw her with my mother in NY and both of us loved it. I am surprised that she hasn't tired of it herself though. Or, maybe she has.

I am all ready for next year's Broadway Bares. I can't believe that a) I never knew about it and b) now I have to wait a whole year.
